One of Florida’s oldest attractions is on fire
“Most” of the animals are okay.
I never got to take the Ivykids. We never got around to it. Now it looks like it’s gone.

Not mad at you ivylass, but the “news” services. Gatorland is on fire. And it makes the news.
Did anyone notice that a huge retirement community burnt to the ground in Saxonburg PA? Nope. Nothing. Nada.
<sigh>

I’ve been. I’m sorry some of the animals were killed.
I went several years ago. Okay, it’s the height of tacky-tourist but it’s been around since 1949 and is a Central Florida icon. I hope they can rebuild it.
Apparently there were some salamanders in the gift shop.
The boss said he got there at 5am, and everything was fine, then about an hour and a half later all hell broke loose.
That’s a pity. I went once when I was a kid, thought it was pretty neat. Hope they can rebuild it.
I have been twice, and loved that place. It was more than just a cheesy tourist attraction, it was a beautiful breeding sanctuary, as well. I am very sorry to hear this.
