gay agenda

Im gonna get in on this one for one reason, the theft of signs in yards. Its childish and it shows that the thieves actually fear that the sign may lead others to vote “because they saw that damn sign”.

Leave it there, put up your opposing sign in your yard, and let the spirit of debate live on. The whole “I stole the sign” thing is so 5th grade. On top of that it makes you just as much the criminal and suppressor you claim the sign bearers to be.

Stupid isnt it? To make yourself a hypocrite for the cause.

Woo hoo! I always wondered why I had so many bisexual friends - they’re brainwashing me!

Next time I want your opinion I’ll beat it out of you.

Now, Marvin, you wouldn’t be… {gasp} judging someone here, would you? We know how much you frown upon that…

You wont drag me into this one, so give up now. I took a “no contest” stance here and wanted no argument. I am just saying, dont subvert and attack others if you want to claim that you are the victim of this. It makes you a hypocrite, and thus nulifies whatever cause you are attempting to defend.

Dear Kettle,

You are black.

GET THE HINT???

You know, I expected to take a lot of heat for the above. I mean, you know, for inciting murder and all, even if I did use The Bard to do it.But nobody has even mentioned it! The guy I said it to, well, his only reaction was to deny being a lawyer.

Interesting. . .

Hmmm, maybe because he isn’t one?

Hey, Lionel, what’s your agenda, pal? Why are you being so vitriolic?

(No one out-nitpicks tracer! )

Only lawn sign I erver had up said " Vote NO on Yes" on one side “Vote Yes on No” on the other. That was years ago when there was some city thing goin on and every body in the neighborhood had one up either vote yes on the thing or vote no about half and half. ALL the neighbors was pissed, said I wasn’t taking the thing serious. I used to like to “cut and paste” bumber stickers, One of my favorites was " When Avon is outlawed, only Avon will ask about my grandbaby". First amendment shmirst amendment , shut up and do what your told.

sigh tracer, the word “only” in my post was modifying “Congress and other government agencies,” not “freedom of speech.” I would think that would have been obvious from the rest of the thread.

perhaps the reason for the lack of reaction is that you didn’t get the quotation right. Why bother arguing with someone who favours hyperbole over accuracy?

There is something wrong with quietly approving of someone removing a political sign from a neighbor’s lawn, unless you think it would be OK for the same person to remove a political sign from your lawn. Would it be OK?

I don’t approve of Prop. 22, at all. But I do not think it’s cute or funny that someone removed a political sign for Prop. 22 from a person’s lawn. Any more than if someone had removed a sign against Prop. 22 from the same lawn. It’s rude, childish, and diminishes the whole issue, which is a serious one.

Davey B, maybe you can change the topic heading. “1st Ammendment in the Grass” , maybe. Maybe I shoulda asked in GQ, but some people tend to hang out in specific boards more than others. I figured this was the one that had folks that might be able to answer my question.I see in the AM rightwing thread that you take a narrower view about topics than I do. ( Though I would like to hear some thoughts from those who DO feel that same sex marriage somehow damages the institution of “traditional” marriage) Since you da boss I guess that’s ok. But you are trampling all over my 1st ammend. rights ,just like all the other… oh sorry. But since you locked that one up and this one seems to have stripped a thread. How did you arrive at the decision that AM on the right was a GQ and not a debate, but this one is a debte? Is it more to do with the replies than original intent? My own decision on between these two would have been the reverse of yours. That way I won’t violate your SD rights. There are the descriptions of the board purposes, but SDMB rules seem to be more open to interpretaion than the constitution and the Bible combined, with the SD moderators as supreme court and Pope combined. ( And this entire reply shoulda been in “About…” as a seperate topic.)

The OP is shot to hell anyway, so let me ask this;
If my neighbor put a “Yes on 22” sign in my yard, a view I strongly disagree with…
Who’s 1st ammendment rights are at stake here?
Forget property rights. Too obvious.
