Gay God, Osama and Death. . .

Why must thread titles in the great debate forums read like the topics of discussion on Jerry Springer to even illicit a viewing by most?

This question hit me when I noticed younger threads bumping merrily along, while my thread inspired by Virginia’s Marriage Affirmation Act is sort of dying slowly. Now it’s quite possible that my other thread is just plain boring but why does it not get views? I suspect it’s the boring title. It appears that the more melodramatic you make your title, the more likely you are to get views.

True? or my own drama?

<sorry> this thread is almost as boring as that one called “Can a meaninful impact on Congress be made through a mobile electorate?”. But at least this one has got a more interesting title.

(Hey that’s my first use of multiple wink smileys.)

Seriously this is a diverse board, and so you need to sell your threads using their title. Since your thread was gay related maybe ‘Can gays influence Congress’ would have caught more attention and still been a legally descriptive title. Your original title sounds like you need a masters in Political Science to be able to participate in it.

… Also with the new board, it is possible to read most of the OP without ever opening the thread, so many people may just have read you OP and realized they weren’t qualified to reply to it having only a hazy knowledge of American political machinations.

False title! I want those 28 seconds back!
