Honestly, I think of all those people as being some degree of programmer. (Of course, I’m also the guy who still insists that computer literacy should mean being able to program in a currently useful language, not just use a product someone else makes.) I probably would have been better off excepting IT positions, but I didn’t think of it. And it’s still interesting for me to see how the question has been interpreted.
Is that midnight the start of Saturday 3/1? I guess I’m 5 minutes too late, but…

Can we add commentary? Because ShibbOleth is my new hero for listing this one! Even my engineering students think I’m a geek for owning one of these. And they also think I’m a racist, because I told them the meaning of the acronym.
Of course you may add commentary!
And if you’re praising ShibbOleth for mentioning RPN calculators, don’t forget that sinjin did so, too!
(and, yes, I am going to factor out calculators and RPN calculators as two different categories of answer.)
BTW, Galena, I thought that RPN was a mathematics term, rather than a slur on anyone.
Sorry, sinjin, I missed your post. You’re awesome too.
And yes, RPN is a perfectly valid term developed by a very forward (or backward, as the case may be…hehe…) thinking Polish mathematician. But young, impressionable students with their TI-83’s tend to think you’re making a pollock joke when you first mention it. Of course, they never ask to borrow your calculator again.
Which is the important thing, after all.
