Athena, October is a great time to visit Arizona. The temperature’s almost perfect! Would you be up for, and would you have the time for, a Doper gathering with Padeye, me, and anyone else we can get to show up? I vote for the Grapevine restaurant just south of Indian School and east of Snobsdale Rd.
How long are you going to be here, and how much free time will you have? I can give you all sorts of suggestions for things to do (hiking Camelback comes to mind).
Yeah, it might be fun to do a dope-fest! Like I said, I’ll be in Scottsdale. I think it’s the first week of October. It’s not 100% for sure yet - I’m waiting on budget approval. But I’d be surprised if it fell through.
I’ll be free most evenings. Earlier in the week is better, since my SO may show up later in the week (he can’t resist staying in a nice hotel on my company’s bill). So maybe Mon, Tue, or Wed night? I leave it up to you to decide where to go, since I’m clueless. Just make it not too hard to get to from Scottsdale.
Athena, sounds good. I may have to schedule the dope-fest around some vacation time, but it shouldn’t be a problem. I think the Grapevine would be a good choice. It’s in Scottsdale, probably just 2-3 miles from where you’ll be staying. Regardless, it’s easy to find. Also, it has outdoor dining. October is a great time to sit outside, especially in the evening.

I’m sure Padeye will be up for it. If he doesn’t chime in here within the next day or so I’ll send him an email. DarkHeart is a newbie who lives in Phoenix; maybe we can get him to show. special hasn’t been posting lately, but I’ll send her an email to see if she wants to attend. Zion has yet to show up for a gathering, but we’ll see what happens. That’s it for the Phoenix contingent, that I know of.
All right, Padeye’s in. Athena, keep us posted as to when and if you’re coming to Scottsdale and we’ll make more detailed plans for a Doper gathering as the time approaches. More than likely we’ll be able to get one or two more Phoenix area residents to show up.
