With all due respect and all.
Yes, death threats haven’t been allowed in the Pit in quite a while. Well, at least against other members (it’s perfectly fine to wish all sorts of harm upon various crime suspects and other drivers)
However. “FOAD” (even if it’s spelled out- which it wasn’t) has not ever (to the best of my searching abilities) prior to this weekend been taken literally and gotten a warning, let alone a ban/suspension.
In fact, I did specifically ask pit mods last fall about that - and was told (via PM, which I won’t cut and paste here, don’t want to break any other rules etc, out the mod in question) that it generally was thought of as an insult, not a specific threat, as it should be.
In fact, even more recently, we had a poster (weirddave) offering to get the $$ together to send another poster (Dio to a dangerous region (Gaza strip, if memory servers) assuming the traveling poster would in fact die. (note that I’m not advocating for that - it was an ugly thing, but unlikely to happen, dave wasn’t likely to get the $$ together, Dio was unlikely to take him up on the offer). but that comes a fuck of a lot closer to an actual deed actually wishing harm against another poster than “FOAD”.
Ban the guy 'cause he was a jerk. Fine. Ban him 'cause in your eyes he mostly posted here to complain. No problem. But claim that “FOAD” is a death threat and suspend/ban him even though forever folks have used “FOAD” w/o even a blip on the screen? Geeze.
I waited til today to see if cooler heads would prevail. They’ve not.
A final word - we already have “pit light” - it’s called MPSIMS.
