I’d offer boobies, but I don’t know if pleo or fluid would be interested and Winston’s already here.
Confirmed.
I could un-confirm and need to be persuaded back…
wait what
I’m sorry, did you say something?
The grim party had arrived. The road had proved arduous and fatal for most, of the 100 that had departed the flotsam of the Great Raft Republic only 21 remained. But they had met their goal; they had reached the prize they sought. Only one rough wooden door remained between them and their quarry.
It was a strange thing to quest for: a noose. A bit of rope tied in a knot with a loop. But it was the symbol of their order, and promised greater skill in usury. The rope ever tightening around it’s prey. And the **Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords **would posses it!
As the last of the party filed into the chamber, the wall sconces pulsated with light and a voice boomed: “YOU MAY NOT CAPTURE WHAT YOU SEEK, YOU ARE DIVIDED IN YOUR PURPOSE HERE. DO NOT RETURN UNTIL YOU HAVE CLEANSED THE DISPARITY FROM YOUR RANKS ! THE ASSOCIATED LEAGUE OF EVIL HIDES IN YOUR SHADOWS!” With the last syllable, darkness engulfed the room and the change began. Bodies shifted form, minds gained acuity unheard of. And when the light returned to the chamber, the party realized that they had been transformed body and mind, but not in purpose.
So they departed the chamber without their prize. But instead with new resolve: they would root out those amongst them who stood in their way and claim the totem that they so desired.

Day 1 will be extended due to the Memorial Day Holiday in the US. It will end Monday, May 30th at 6:59 PM.
The hammer threshold for Day 1 is 13.**
Well, this is exciting. First game we’ve had in a while that used a hammer vote. There’s going to be a lot of arguing if someone gets to 10 votes, I can tell.
So, this is the first game I’ve played on these boards, though I recognize a lot of you characters.
What’s the SOP over here?
I don’t necessarily have a problem with hammers as long as someone’s keeping track so we know how close we are to a hammer. Because some of us fail at noticing that.
Day 1, I doubt very much that we’ll see anything close to a hammer, unless someone claims scum or something.
Do you play at Idlemafia, then? I think we’ve played in games before. SOP? No real SOP here. I have noticed a trend of people being able to slide through quietly here, but I’m not sure if that is the same case over at Idle.
I usually attract a lot of attention early in the game because, town or not, I try to just post my thoughts and feelings without over-analyzing them for possible misinterpretations. I feel like free talking is a good town tactic.
I’m not sure if I see any hints in the color that would guide us about mechanisms/setup in the game. There appears to be some kind of noose we are looking for, but if it is behind a door, I don’t see any way for that to be part of the game.
However, worth asking.
Is anyone in current possession of the noose? Please state clearly either way.
I, Mahaloth, do not currently have the noose.
Wow, my first day one… I don’t know what to expect. New and exciting territory I’m in…
So, to kick off the talk, what type of roles would you expect in a 21 player game? How many scum do y’all think there is? Can we expect much in the way of power roles?
Yep; I’m pretty sure we played together in Halloween Mafia, if nothing else.
SQUEEK.
:dubious:
4 or 5 scum unless there is a 3rd party. I see nothing that prohibits or indicates a 3rd party, so I don’t know. Depends on the strength of the town power roles, I suppose.
Is 6 an outrageous amount of scum in a game of 21? I think it is.
I would think 4-5 Scum, depending on the number of third party/PFKs (assuming there are third party/PFKs, of course, which there may not be.)
I think it’s much too early to speculate about power roles, but that’s me.
What’s with the :dubious: ?
We were told color can give us some hint of the mechanics of the game.
:dubious: back at you.
Translating: There are two kinds of third parties in Mafia - those that can win with either side (“survivors”) and those that try to win on their own (“play-for-keeps” or PFKs) - an example of the latter is the “serial killer” role, who kills one player every night and wins if everyone else is dead.
I have no noose. Also, this color makes me feel tingly inside–or maybe that’s the tiger balls I’ve been eating.
My rule of thumb is the square root of the players so either 4 or 5 scum.
Maha, no one likes making statements like that this early. Do you really think if someone has the noose they’ll blithely say so? And if they won’t, everyone saying they don’t have it will only be useful if we have a truth diviner role and I don’t think they’re so popular as to have their inclusion assumed.
Noted.
Based on my reading of the color, no one has the noose, because it’s on the wrong side of the rough wooden door away from which we were turned.
