Genre Fiction Mafia

I see IS has adequately explained my skepticism about your statement.

And yes, thanks Tom – I forget not everyone uses the same shorthand.

Yes, it’s important we all are on familiar ground with terms. I was once lynched for referring to the godfather role as the alpha.

Were you scum?

Well, I suppose at least I know what a noose is.

Mahaloth, do you have any reason to believe that there is a McGuffin (noose or anything else) in the game? I don’t see any way for it to be a part of the game, based on the color, but I’m wondering if you know otherwise and that’s why you asked.

What makes you think anyone has the noose?

The colour says that all 21 of us left without their prize; consequently it appears that no-one has it. Or at least, we have no reason to suppose anyone has it.

So why do you think someone does?

The noose seems to be implied to be a a win-con, perhaps; otherwise, just generic flavor for a town win?

Nope, plain old vanilla town.

Hi, my name is Ed.

That’s a lie, my name really isn’t Ed.

Well, maybe it is, inasmuch as name is something that people use to label things.

So, yes, my name is Ed.

I am Town.

And my win condition is not as stated in the sample PM given at the beginning of the thread.

:smack:

oh yes, I went there.

Per the first post:

Per the opening post:

Evidence that we are, in fact, dealing with a third party or two? I’d say so.

Could you be more specific?

Oops, forgot to add @Special Ed.

I believe your win condition differs because Red, at the time he composed his first post, forgot about the double hammer thing. He already amended one of the rules, and adjusted something else, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him post a new, updated sample PM.

For the record, though, my PM is also different from the posted one.

And by PM, I mean win condition.

I’m guessing this is directed at me. Red has intimated that the color can provide hints about the game state. Since he’s now used two different ways to describe the opposing force, I’d guess that there’s a scum team that can communicate, plus a 3rd party or two that can not communicate, and together they form the “Associated League of Evil.”

:dub:

Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords = TOWN

Associated League of Evil = SCUM

Indeed. Maybe Astral’s PM says something different?

vote Astral

So is your win condition as stated in the edited sample given at post #23?

I dunno about Astral but that matches my PM’s win condition.

Who, I ask myself, would be confused by the label for Town after reading their PM? Not anyone from Town, surely?

An explanation needs to be forthcoming: did Astral get a PM telling him he was in CARS and think until now that he was scum? I doubt it.

Hee hee CARS and ALE. Don’t drink and drive!
