I believe that he was assuming that there is a scum team and an unspecified 3rd party team that collectively are known as the Associated League of Evil and the scum team itself is the Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords. If that makes sense. I could be wrong, though.

Yes. We use color here to refer to the framing device for the game.
Welcome, Weedy. Yes. Color or colour usually refers to flavor or flavour.
Colored text also has its meaning. Blue for votes, red for unvotes, green for moderator questions, and purple for ghosts.
Note that we usually bold as well as color text.
And in many games, but not this game, game color is just that – like the color commentary from the football broadcasters.
In this game, however, Red has stated color may not be just color.

Hmm, not to be all metagamey but his profile says he was last on at 6:58 which is late enough to see that people have more questions for him. Which says to me that he’s staying mum until he has a better idea of what he wants to say, avoiding the thread or gasp mafia is not his number one priority on the board and he’s been gadding about elsewhere with nary a thought for us. For shame!
That’s exactly how I read it. And I don’t see how he could get there from a PM that reads either “Alignment: Consolidated etc” or “Alignment: Associated etc”, given that the former clearly is not the scum and the latter would presumably recognize their own team name.

Well, I’m reserving judgment until I hear from him because right now I’m on the fence about whether it’s scummy or not. I suspect it may just be reading too fast and thinking they’ve caught ahold of something sly on the part of the moderator.
I wasn’t sure if Slumlords were good guys or not, till I read the flavour text. They don’t sound like good guys, but it turns out they are, for the purposes of this game at least.
More newbie clarification: mass claim - that’s where everyone declares who they are? Surely the bad guys just lie, so what is the point? I guess you get to see which powerful good guys you have.

I think I concur with the votes so far: it’s manifestly clear from both sample role PMs that “Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords” are the town faction, and missing that fact while looking at one’s own PM indicates to me that **Astral **is either probably NOT in the CARS or he is skimming.
