It seems very hard to reach a consensus. I do think we should do it, though.
I posted my role PM mostly because I’m not going to be in front of a computer for a couple days, and anything beyond basic participation I’d really hard on my phone.
I did… something to my back this morning (may have cracked a rib). I went to the doc, got some XRays, got some drugs, and I’m heading home. Don’t know how much I’ll be around the next couple days. I’m in some pretty serious pain and I’m pretty tough about pain, but this is pretty debilitating.
I just took vicodin, cyclobenzaprene and 800mg ibuprofen. Waiting for the rain now
A mass claim would shake things up, right, which seems to be what we need. Or else we just keep lynching people. Law of averages says we will turn up scum eventually. We are down to 16, minus 4-5 scum, minus 1-2 3rd parties (bomber, poisoner), so 10 Townies, maybe. If we can lose two a night, then that’s not many days left.
I thought there must be scum somewhere in the people voting for Pleonast, so I looked at all of them.
Hirka: dead Townie
Fluiddruid: bomb detector.
Normal Phase: has a lot of posts, too many to analyse them all closely. She feels Town, based on the detail she goes into, and the timelines and vote counts that she posts. This things are helpful, so that is pro-Town behaviour. Plus, she comments on any and everything, which would be hard to keep up if she was scum.
Winston Smith: had the soft vote on Pleonast, kept it there for two days, then admitted it was bad 804, and backed off 1018. He also made a hasty vote on Mahaloth, and then retracted it. It seems like Winston may be just skimming, or not putting a lot of thought into his votes. That seems like a scum tell, but it also seems to me that scum would be a bit more careful in their votes. Mahaloth is about the closest we have to confirmed Town, so Winston was bound attract a lot of questions for that vote, which is not what a scum would want.
MHaye: I am predisposed to like him because he explains things very clearly. He had a very clear reason for his vote on Pleonast, which was a logical contradiction in Pleo’s reasoning. My problem with this is that I’m not sure that being illogical is in itself a sign of scumminess. In hindsight, it obviously isn’t, beause Pleonast was town. He voted for Zeriel on Day 1 and Inner on Day 3. Possible scum. Or not.
pedescribe: MIA, should we Lynch the Lurker? He was active on Day 1. I would like to know what happened since then. I already said why I didn’t like his case on Pleonast here. He stuck with it early on Day 2, and didn’t consider much else. I would think this was scummy, except he then disappeared so maybe he is just uninterested. If I had to pick scum from this list, it would be pedescribe.
more below, because this post is getting too long.
Still looking thorugh Days 2 & 3.
Red had 16 of us alive today, but I can only think of 15: Silver Jan, fluiddruid, Normal Phase, Inner Stickler, Weedy, Sister Coyote, Tom Scud, Winston Smith, Mahaloth, Pedescribe, Zeriel, Astral, Mhaye, nesta, Stanislaus.
That makes me even more worried about the urgency of finding someone. I think a mass claim would be good, because it gives more info. Mahaloth really seems to want one and he is in a position to know more than the rest of us, and is also presumed Town, so I think we should go for it.
Thoughts on the poisoner: 3rd party? If it has a delayed result, Pleo must have been poisoned on Day 1. Mahaloth was probably poisoned on Night 2, hopefully the doc protected him. So hopefully no poison death tonight. The poisoner probably isn’t any of the people who voted for Pleonast Day 1. That leaves Silver Jan, Weedy, Sister Coyote, Zeriel, Mhaye, nesta, Stanislaus. Nobody leaps out as third party to me. It would be good to find them in case they kill more townies, but finding scum is much more important right now.
If it doesn’t start pretty much now, it’s not going to happen. I’d like fluid at least to weigh in; perhaps Tom Scud too, but that’s not happening either.
Mahaloth, just do it or don’t do it.

Hmm. Apparently there are only 15 people still alive. I said 16 earlier. Guess I was wrong. Hammer remains at 10.
This is all that Pedescribe has done in this game.
Post 269: He says he doesn’t believe that** Astral** was being entirely honest but thinks tentatively that he buys it for now. Questions the “weak cop” claim.
Post 283: Doubts that there is a Jester in the game when a few people were considering it.
Post 399: A little tempted to vote for Pleo for a null tell. Votes Sister Coyote for “not much of a reason” but it was Day 1.
Post 418: Strengthens his vote on Sister Coyote.
Post 537: Picks apart** Pleonasts** posts.
Post 545 and 546: Unvotes Sis C and Votes** Pleo.**
Post 595: Says that the case against **Astral **is weak.
It might not prove that he is scum but it is definitely anti- Town.
Say, what?
Jan, when you posted your case on Inner Stickler, and as good as said that you were making it up to pacify Normal, I thought only a Townie could be that ditzy (besides, I actually thought it was a good case, at the time). Surely a Scum would be more cunning and manipulative. But this random posting of a few links, followed by a flat-out declaration of anti-Towniness, just seems really, really … hopeful. Why, after waffling for days, are you suddenly so keen to get pedescribe lynched?
Because I have been accused of just lynching the lurker and I wanted to back up my vote. I thought I had quite a good case against Inner but he put paid to that with his claim and I think it would be a bit odd to continue voting for the Doc.
I have got a few votes against me so I thought I had to do some careful reading and Pedescribe hasn’t been playing. If he came back into the game I might have to do a rethink, depending on what he said.
NETA: That was not a few random links, they were all of the posts I could find from Pedescribe! That’s how many there are and it’s not much.
I think that Town are supposed to make cases so that we can find the scum before they kill us. Scum are supposed to make cases to divert suspicion and cover their tracks. This seems like the latter kind of case so,
vote Silver Jan
Gah, no
unvote Silver Jan
I just can’t believe that scum would be so blatant.
Has anyone had any more thoughts on the Bomber? There could be 3 players out there now with bombs planted in them and we only know about** Mahaloth**?
@ Weedy, you have also said that you find** Pedescribe** scummy because of the way he behaved. Do you think it’s less scummy cos he doesn’t seem to be interested in the game?
I used random.org to randomize a claim order for our remaining players. I included everyone, even those who have claimed.
- Astral Rejection
- Zeriel
- Weedy
- Inner Stickler
- Stanislaus
- fluiddruid
- Mahaloth
- pedescribe
- nesta
- Normal Phase
- Tom Scud
- MHaye
- Silver Jan
- SisterCoyote
- Winston Smith
Astral is up first. If pedescribe does not show, we can skip him.
I’m fine with claiming - but why are we waiting for Astral when we know what his claim is? He’s hardly going to revise it at this stage.
Did he post his role PM and everything? If so, I guess we can move on to Zeriel.
I can post it again for you.
Name: R. Daneel Olivaw

Zeriel?
Does anyone have a list of every vote, ever? If not, I think I want to make one. This could (understandably) take some time, so I’m hoping someone already did and can save me the trouble!
Normal, I haven’t forgotten my promise to look at Silver Jan. At 74 posts, it’s taking me a while to slog through them all while also reading surrounding posts for context.
