Genre Fiction Mafia

If my review is correct the claims are:

Explicit claims:[ul]
[li] Astral Rejection - Weak Cop [234][/li][li] Inner Stickler - Paranoid Doctor [1097][/li][li] fluiddruid - Bomb Detector [925][/li][li] SisterCoyote - Vanilla [467][/li][/ul]
Soft claims:[ul]
[li] Tom Scud - Coroner [1083][/li][li] Mahaloth[/li][/ul]
Not claimed:[ul]
[li] Zeriel[/li][li] nesta[/li][li] pedescribe[/li][li] Normal Phase[/li][li] Winston Smith[/li][li] Stanislaus[/li][li] Silver Jan[/li][li] Weedy[/li][li] MHaye[/li][/ul]
Dead (all mod confirmed as CARS):[ul]
[li] Hirka T’Bawa - No Claim - Night 3[/li][li] Special Ed - No Claim - Night 2[/li][li] TexCat - Vanilla [1041] - Day 3[/li][li] fubbleskag - Remorseful Vig [648] - Day 1[/li][li] gnarlycharlie - No Claim - Day 2[/li][li] Pleonast - Soft claim of power - Night 3[/li][/ul]
I count Tom Scud as a soft claim because he has claimed Coroner, but unless I missed it he hasn’t posted his PM. I include Mahaloth because he says he can confirm Inner’s block, implying a blockable power, though I don’t see any other claim by him.

So 5 power role claims and 1 vanilla among the 15 living. If we include the dead we have 7 power role claims, 2 vanilla claims (one mod confirmed CARS, one still alive), 3 dead without claiming one way or another, and 9 alive and unclaimed. These numbers make me think that we are power role heavy, unless we’ve been unlucky in forcing that many claims, or there’s some scum gambit going on.

If we have any masons or other mutually confirming roles I think we should mass claim. If not it might still be a good idea since we currently have almost as many claims as not, and a mass claim might lead to contradictions or further information that could help. The risk is that there might be power roles that would make better targets than the cop or doc, assuming they are legitimate, but having all the true claims out in the open might help us win the wifom. I’ve played in games where a mass claim was proposed, but not one where it was done – it would be interesting to see how it plays out.

I need to do a full re-read of the game. With all these twists and claims I feel like I’ve lost track and need reevaluate.

Your list is missing that TexCat claimed vanilla and was mod confirmed to be CARS. Since he was town I doubt he lied about his role, which also confirms this isn’t an all-power game.

It seems I had a cut-paste error with Tom’s Coroner claim in my previous post, since for some reason it links to Inner’s post. The correct link is [1083].

It’s bugging me that Tom claimed Coroner but didn’t post his PM.

Tom?

Ok, yes, lynch people that are not participating because by not posting that is not helping Town at all!!

I didn’t want to post this but I think** Normal** should be looking for real Scum.

I just had to look up specious and this is what I found.
specious
adjective fallacious, misleading, deceptive, plausible, unsound, sophistic, sophistical, casuistic The Duke was not convinced by such specious arguments.

I am not sure what to make of it though.

Did Not Vote:Tom Scud, Mahaloth, Zeriel, nesta, pedescribe, fluiddruid, Winston Smith, Stanislaus, Weedy, MHaye, Astral Rejection
With these votes pedescribe would be lynched.

Vote Silver Jan

Mostly for the confused townie routine.

Also for the LtL vote

Also for being so vague all the time and the constant hedging. You’re hinting at suspicion in my direction now, maybe trying to capitalize on SisterC’s vote yesterday.

Name: Ender Wiggins
Alignment: Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords
Universe/Story: Speaker for the Dead
Role: Coroner
Powers: Each night you may choose a dead player to target. You will learn the full extent of their powers.
Wincondition: You win when all threats to the Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords have been vanquished AND at least one member of the Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords are alive.

As for why I didn’t post it in my claim post, I was trying to get it under the 6:00 wire (which I did because I didn’t want to leave that open as a fairly easy scum fake claim if I did die).

I think she’s “confused scum”. And I hope other people than will look at her posts. Astral’s been promising to since yesterDay, hasn’t yet.

Yes, although since Astral is also strongly in favor of a mass claim, unless they are both scum (in which case Mahaloth wouldn’t have to be but probably still would be godfather, since Astral wouldn’t be able to be certain that no actual townie investigation power hit Mahaloth also), at least one townie sees advantages that outweigh that sort of thing.

Have you thought about sharing your results with us? I actually think it would be great to tell us what powers have died.

The implication is that Mahaloth was roleblocked (twice); that is, he has some form of active power. If town, this is probably playing into his desire for a mass claim; whatever his role is is also to some extent outed now by his confirmation of Inner Stickler’s action.

Thank you, but I think I am.

Thanks.

He has, with the exception of last night’s result. Fubbleskag told the truth (of course), and Mahaloth wasn’t dead. I presume he’s holding his results from last night due to the pending mass claim.

Did I miss a consensus that we were mass claiming, somewhere?

No consensus was reached. Posting from my phone at work, so I could be mistaken, but it looks like Silver Jan kicked it off, despite claiming that she “didn’t want to do it.” When I get home, I’ll be able to further develop a case, but Silver has indeed been looking suspicious.

Silver Jan seems to have posted mostly as a response to my suspicion of her/my comment that I’d like to see her PM. I don’t think that helps her case, but I don’t think the mass claim had much to do with it, either.

Winston, I don’t know.
