Next, I want to have an easy list of who the unknowns voted for by day, and how many times they voted for another unknown versus how often they voted for town. Also to be considered: where their vote ended up, and how close that person was to being lynched.

Day 4:

Day 1: Zeriel (2/7)
Day 2: Pleonast (4/8)
Day 3: Inner Stickler (4/7)
Day 4:
I’m gonna start by pointing out some patterns that I noticed.
One name seems to come up an awful lot. Of 10 unknowns, 5 have voted for Inner Stickler. Stanislaus has voted for him three days in a row, starting on Day 2. He was the last person to vote for Inner Stickler on Days 2 and 3. Silver Jan votes exclusively for Inner on Days 2 and 3.
nesta is the only person who has provably voted for town each day. nesta was the first to vote for fubbleskag on Day 1, and the last to vote for gnarlycharlie and TexCat on Days 2 and 3, respectively. Those votes are the only votes nesta placed on those Days.
Winston Smith also votes exclusively for town players the first three Days. He has only one vote per day until Day 4.
Another interesting thing about Stanislaus is that he’s the only unknown player who didn’t vote for a lynch leader on any day. None of his votes are for people in any real danger.
Next, I want to see if there are any players who seem to be voting together.
Normal Phase, Winston Smith, and pedescribe voted for Pleonast on Day 1. Of those three, Winston Smith and pedescribe both voted for Pleonast on Day 2; Normal voted for a different town player, and then immediately moved her vote to Silver Jan. Normal and Winston both voted for TexCat on Day 3.
Stanislaus and MHaye both voted for Zeriel on Day 1. They both also voted for Inner Stickler on Day 3. They both voted for town players on Day 2, although the jury is still out on Inner Stickler, where Stanislaus ended his vote.
Stanislaus and Silver Jan both appear to be obsessed with Inner Stickler, voting for him repeatedly.
Weedy, nesta, and Silver Jan all vote for fubbleskag on Day 1. Of these three, Weedy and nesta both voted for town players on Day 2 as well.
It’s 2:51 right now, and I have no idea if these connections are meaningful. I need to sleep on this, and hopefully I can attack the data from a new angle tomorrow. Just wanted to post my thoughts in case it helps anyone else.
Just in case anyone was wondering about those numbers after each final vote… those represent how many votes were for their target versus how many votes the vote leader had.
For example:
Stanislaus voted for Zeriel. The day ended, and Zeriel had 2 votes. The lynch leader (in this case, fubbleskag) had 7 votes. I represented that as (2/7). In this particular case, Zeriel was in no real danger of being lynched, and we can interpret that as we will.
Okay, I wanted to do one more thing before I went to bed.
Votes by volume from the 10 unknowns!
Inner Stickler 9
Pleonast 6
TexCat 6
Astral Rejection 5
Silver Jan 5
gnarlycharlie 4
fubbleskag 3
SisterCoyote 3
pedescribe 2
Zeriel 2
Hirka T’Bawa 1
Mahaloth 1
Winston Smith 1
Given how often Inner Stickler has been voted for, and given 5 of the top 7 vote gatherers are town or suspected town, I’m starting to lean townie on Inner.
As time is ticking away, and Inner is claimed, and I’m in a different time zone I’m going to claim now:

Also - not going to apologise for voting for non-lynch leaders. Also also, voting for Zeriel was at least voting for non-Town - not sure why this is meant to be suspicous.
If you look at the vote leaders on every Day, not just the ones that voted off, but the runner-ups
Day 1
fubbleskag, Pleonast, Astral Rejection
Day 2
gnarlycharlie, Pleonast, Inner Stickler
Day 3
Texcat, Inner Stickler, Hirka T’Bawa, Zeriel
It doesn’t look we have ever even been close to voting off scum. I feel like I need to look somewhere else alogether. At the other end of the spectrum are the people who have never been voted for:
nesta
Normal Phase
Stanislaus
Weedy
MHaye
I can’t really evaluate myself, but of the rest of these people, they all seem to be focussed on hunting scum, which I guess is why they haven’t got any votes. Mhaye did ping me a little bit before for his vote on Pleonast.

Oh, and I meant to say cheers to Astral for all the hard work. I hope it shakes some ideas loose for people.
Will the next person just claim already?
Next person is fluiddruid, who claimed bomb detector (some Discworld character) - investigated Astral, Pleo (redirect to Maha), and I forget the third. Next person after that is you, Maha.
Fluid’s PM and additional investigation (negative on Silver Jan):
FYI all, I checked Silver Jan for bombs last night and none were detected.
claimed in order:
Let’s not hold our breath for pedescribe. Nesta, feel free to claim after Mahaloth.

Do you want me to claim again because I might be in bed when it’s my turn?
Nesta, go ahead. I think waiting for Pedescribe is not wise.

Here it is again.
Apologies for silence. Between the ending of the other game, real-life obligations yesterday evening and this morning, and dozing off during the day after sleepless nights, I’m just getting my head back in the game.
I’d spent some time reviewing Inner Stickler’s posts and comparing my findings to Silver Jan’s as a way of checking out two players at once. As I said upthread, I don’t think she was that unreasonable in her analysis in her post.
Inner Stickler’s claim makes a little sense of the impression he gave over the first couple of Days. Power roles sometimes try and keep their heads down, and overdo it. I’m not going to come charging out with another vote for him, at least without thinking about it first.
I want to reread the claims and have another think.
On the subject of mass claims, I’ll claim before going to bed tonight, even if the others before me in the list haven’t turned up, as if I don’t I’m unlikely to be around again until the last six hours of the Day.
Weedy has voted for me. I have two problems with the vote.
Firstly, it came a bit out of the blue – in post [post=13928278]1203[/post] I was clearly explaining things and had a good (although now known to be wrong) reason for my Day 2 vote.
MHaye: I am predisposed to like him because he explains things very clearly. He had a very clear reason for his vote on Pleonast, which was a logical contradiction in Pleo’s reasoning. My problem with this is that I’m not sure that being illogical is in itself a sign of scumminess. In hindsight, it obviously isn’t, because Pleonast was town. He voted for Zeriel on Day 1 and Inner on Day 3. Possible scum. Or not.
He does not mention me again until he votes for me in post [post=13932334]1246[/post]. Apparently this is because I “pinged him” before voting for Pleo, but he does not say how I pinged him, and neither did he mention it in 1203, or at any time between those posts. I cannot defend myself against the charge if the grounds are never stated.
Weedy, just how did I “ping” you? Why did you not mention it in 1203?
While I’m on the subject of Weedy’s recent play, he voted Silver Jan then unvoted in post [post=13929601]1213[/post] because, fundamentally, “Mafia wouldn’t do that.” That’s not something to bet the house on around here, Weedy. It’s lost games for Town. (Notably Mafia 2 on this site.) I think there are things that ALE drinkers would not do; remember the Mafia are playing to win the game, and everything they do will be to forward that aim. Blatantly suicidal and retrograde actions won’t be taken deliberately. Do you think Silver Jan’s actions fall into that category?
I want to pick a player to review. I’ll be back when I’m done.
