(I’m a she, BTW)
I didn’t say you had a ‘good’ case against Pleo. I said you had a ‘clear’ case. In my mind, I was contrasting it with Normal Phase’s reasoning that I had to reread several times before I understood what she was saying.
It pinged me in the way I said it did. You caught Pleonast in a logical contradiction. Being illogical is not necessarily a sign of scumminess, but you voted as if it was. That is what I saying in post 1203, and that is why I said then that you were ‘possible scum’. I don’t see how you can say it came out of the blue in 1246, when I’d just mentioned it in 1203.
Is Silver Jan blatantly suicidal? She says that she is making cases for the sole reason of getting votes off her. I would say yes, that is blatantly suicidal, except that no one else seems to care, except Normal Phase.
I’m afraid to confess that I’ve never heard of me.

Weedy, my apologies on the gender confusion. I’ll try and remember in future.
I attempted to investigate Gnarly on Night two, and did so on Night three, because I thought Rorschach was a more likely power role than Tyrion. He was vanilla.
We probably have a bomber out there hiding as some other claim.
1a) it’s not me, especially since I have that powerful automatic roleblock already that someone like **Inner **or **Astral **could test.
We have a more-than-average number of claimed power roles. At the same time, unless **TexCat **was playing poorly we know at least one person was honest-to-goodness vanilla. It’s entirely likely that scum are hiding among the vanilla, and it’s equally possible that at least one scum or PFK has hidden in the power roles.
In other words, I don’t think the distribution of claims gives us much info regarding where the bad guys are hiding.
We don’t have a claimed vig active, which would have made the problem of **pedescribe **so much easier to deal with.
3a) Should we lynch pedescribe?
Oh, and 4) self-serving as it is, I can’t see any reasonable way to test the extant power roles claimed except for mine. Which means any test of mine is only as good as your trust for the person testing it.
My only comment is this: we’ve seen so far a lot of claimed power roles that are not particularly powerful or have drawbacks.
My power is medium-powerful and has a drawback (doesn’t block kills), not to mention the fact that it makes me look suspicious when it fires off.
Besides, as I read it, I can’t be investigated meaningfully except to confirm the existence of my claimed power–thus I have no motive to claim this power AND third-party if I’m anything other than a truthful survivor. If I was a mad bomber I’d have nothing to lose by claiming town.
I’m dopey as all heck and can’t really think, but obvious questions for Mahaloth:
– Did your night one action have any visible (to you) effect?
– Was your night three action aimed at Zeriel?
Auto-roleblock on an investigation from Astral makes the power more useful for scum than third parties, though third parties would still get a benefit as regards Inner Stickler, Mahaloth, or scum powers. Whether or not it would make you look suspicious depends entirely on whether the source of the roleblock (or rather, the fact that there was none) is known. (Reason for asking Mahaloth if he targeted you last night, possible impact on IS’s claim though perhaps not, too fuzzy to work it out. but anyway).
Where your logic is correct is that this claim does not help you (as scum OR third party) as compared to a claim of vanilla town, at least as far as I can think right now.
the auto-roleblock power will bite me right in the ass in a town-controlled late game, where town is winning with the strategy of “confirm as many people as possible”–the power makes me unconfirmable and thus a liability. Being up-front about it when it’s not necessarily in my best interest to do so makes it more likely I’m being truthful.
The wording of my power is specific enough (and my paranoia is high enough) that I didn’t want to take the risk of a non-targeted (and thus not blocked) truth sensor power or something–especially in light of one weird affects-everyone untargeted power already extant (the mass redirect).
Purely selfish–this way, scum is less likely to NK me too.
Until you got investigated, when you would instantly look very suspicious if you had claimed town. If you are not the mad bomber, then we have another third party, plus a poisoner, so three third parties.
But it seems harsh to give fluiddruid a bomb detection power, and then give the mad bomber protection vs. it.
I don’t know that mad bomb detectors necessarily always can detect the bomber, they usually just detect the bombs, in my experience. The utility being then that anyone detected to have a bomb cannot be the mad bomber.
For those of you already dead who are looking to get into another game, there’s a sign up at my boards for a game going to start soon. It’ll be hosted by Meeko and it’s based on the animals you’d find in a zoo.
I thought I’d be able to get caught up today and whatnot, but I got called into a 9:30am to 4pm meeting, and I have plans tonight, and a similar schedule tomorrow so I most likely won’t be back to the game thread until wednesday.
