My account is current, my e-mail capacity is only 40%, and I’ve e-mailed Yahoo! and gotten the standard computer generated reply. I’ve e-mailed them back for more info but have yet to hear from them.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there an 800 number I can call for Geocities? I can’t find one on their website…the only way you can contact them is through e-mail.
If that’s the case, I didn’t know geocities had started allowing www.mywebsite.com urls.
Or did you get www.mywebsite.com through somebody else, like 000domains, and point it to your geocities account? I didn’t even know geocities allowed you to do that.
Anyway, if that’s the case, then it would be up to whoever sold you your www.mywebsite.com url - did they say they offered e-mail?
I’m with Bup. Is there any way you could re-phrase your question? I’ve been with Geocities for almost 10 years – I haven’t a clue as to what you’re talking about.
Sorry I confused you. I don’t know all the tech terms and I may not be explaining this correctly. I registered and set up a website using Geocities. If you go to geocities.com you can see the different platforms(?) they offer, and you can also register a domain name through them. They will even help design the website if you want, using Sitewizard.
When people visit the website and attempt to e-mail me at the webmaster@mydomainname.com, it gets bounced back with a “relaying denied” error. It’s supposed to send any such e-mails to my Yahoo account (myname@yahoo.com)
You’re on one of the premium members with Geocities Pro (I guess they have a “Webmaster” version too – oo! all those fancy names!)
The Geocities forums may be helpful – you can’t possibly be the only one having this problem. It could be something dumb in the e-mail preferences.
I’ll see if I can find the old forums. I remember last time I went hunting for them they were a HUGE pain in the butt to find. Maybe they dont even exist anymore – but I’ll let you know what I find…
