Ossoff and Perdue could end up in a recount. Warnock and Loeffler will not. And cheating is always possible with Republicans, though at this point I think Kemp and his people are probably disinclined to help federal Republicans with anything at all.
Preempting the obvious:
If the predictions hold up, and the Democrats take both seats, I really really hope that the message finally gets through to what remains of the actual Republican party members and elected officials that hitching your wagon to the Trumplicans is a loser’s game, and will lead them into the wilderness for the foreseeable future.
I HOPE they finally realize this. I’m AFRAID that they will double down on the denial and end up trying to seize power through violence.
Me too. And I have to wake up in less than 6 hours so cmon people! Help me get some sleep!
Every dirty fantasy going through my mind right now involves Mitch McConnell’s waddle quivering furiously as he holds back an ugly cry.
They have come out as Republicans, not Trumplicans. More people need to do this.
But this didn’t start with Trump. They have long known that an increasing majority of the population are opposed to their policies, making them unelectable in a fair election. For decades they have been fully committed to undermining democracy rather than changing their policies.
Purdue’s lead just increased, over 3000 now.
MSNBC has bubbles. The bubbles are crazy.
Perdue just picked up a big pile of votes from somewhere - his lead is up to 3500.

Gov. Brian Kemp appointed Kelly Loeffler to the Senate in 2019, surmising that she would appeal to moderates. But she moved to the right, becoming a major Trump supporter.
Let the Republicans learn the lesson; A Trumplican is a loser, even in the state of Georgia. Trumplicans will destroy your party.
It looks like any lead over 22.5K will exceed the .5% margin. I believe that both candidates will exceed that number, so if there will be recounts, they’ll have to be paid for by the…
I believe it was coffee county…
Those were same-day (today) votes in DeKalb. Most everything else remaining to come in will heavily favor the Dems.
NYTimes is saying the big bump of votes Perdue just got was R +5.7, but the expectation for those votes was R+7.4. So even in the remaining GOP-favored areas he’s underperforming.
Raffensperger says ~17k overseas ballots, mostly military, deadline Friday. But I assume the gurus have factored that in.
I want to hug and pet and squeeze this post and call it George. . .
She didn’t just move to the right, she told the right to read her bumper stickers as she passed them by. She’s more conservative than Attila the Hun. I guess Italy should be scared.
Well. Georgia has pleasantly shocked me once. Odds are looking good they’ll pleasantly shock me twice. I am pleased (so far).
But let’s give a big hand to one of the Democrats’ most important allies - Donald John Trump! If not for the steady drumbeat of his deranged ranting about how the Georgian elections were a sham I’m guessing both of these seats would have stayed R, as per usual. Good on ya, Donald you old sociopath - way to throw your party under the bus!
Dave Wasserman has seen enough:
Still, this is one occasion where I want to sit up all night and watch the inevitable happen.
