We’re talking about this aren’t we?:
No, that was Perdue, the supposedly more moderate of the two. So much for that!
Did she do the same thing (darken the whole image) or did she do something different (darken her opponent’s skin)?
I’m logging out of this conversation. Congrats to the Democrats. But you better keep Joe Manchin happy because it doesn’t seem likely that he will go along with many of the things that other Democrats are hoping to do.
As am I. I predicted early on that both of the Rs would win. Very pleased to see this outcome; kudos to the D candidates and their campaign teams, and especially to Stacey Abrams!
Lock your door, lock it tight
It’s the new immoral right
They wanna cleanse the home of the brave
For the master race of the U.S.A
It’s so beautiful on the street
You won’t know them
Like a pack of wolves
In sheeps’ clothing, spreading wide
Spreading far not just another false alarm
It’s so beautiful
America
I got my bible
America
I got my handgun
America
Now I’m ready
America
Home of the brave
America
home of the slaves
America
Now I’m ready but are you?

How often did Mitch actually put a bill up for vote after the Democrat’s took control of the House?
Answer my questions first,
I don’t have a count, and am not going to look it up. But to my (limited) knowledge, the Senate originated basically no bills, and as of Feb 2020, there are 395 House bills awaiting Senate action.
So after Mitch nuked the SCOTUS filibuster, there really wasn’t anything for the Senate Dems to filibuster (they having nuked the lower court filibuster to get around Mitch’s intransigence there).
Then- go away.
OK, I looked - there appears to have been 328 cloture motions in the current Congress, almost all filed by Mitch around nominees and which all passed (I guess that means moved on to a vote).
Schumer filed one on the ACA, it failed which I assume means there was no vote on the motion/legislation. There were a handful of other failed motions on bills (and a couple of nominees). Feel free to count them (link provided above).
It looks like 90% or so of the motions were for nominations, which don’t need a super-majority. If this list also represents all bills that the Senate considered, then I go back to my original point that there was nothing to filibuster because:
a) the Senate originated little to no legislation of its own
b) Mitch refused to bring any House passed bills to the floor.
How long do we think the Senate will be able to delay seating Warnock and Ossoff? I’m wondering if Biden will have to wait several months to be able to get his cabinet picks confirmed. Mitch will still be in control until they are seated. Big motivation for him to delay and countless lawsuits will probably be filed.
By Trump’s rules for himself, Biden should be given an extra term or two if he has to wait a long time.
I’d imagine they’re going to be seated when the Senate returns on the 20th. Their margins were big enough to avoid a recount, and it feels like a lot of the fight has gone out of Republicans on baselessly challenging election results (for now). At his press conference right now, Lindsey Graham said, “we just lost two seats in Georgia.”
I hope so then.
Mitch is going to obstruct for all he’s worth for the next six years and if his health holds up, the multi-chinned SOB might even run again in '26. But I also think he’s worried shitless because he’s not sure his party of insanity can win national elections any more.
Moderating
This looks like junior modding and rude, to boot. Knock it off please.
Loeffler has conceded
Didn’t she say she would never concede?
Good for her.
It’s possible she actually heard that wakeup call yesterday.
Bless her heart.
