Voller and Rijkaard look like they’ve just spent the night together, in that photo. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, I hasten to add, but I’d still rather not think about it.
Anyway, I’m supporting Turkey, and, if needs be, Germany. Whatever it takes to stop Rivaldo getting a World Cup winner’s medal. The man is an absolute cad, and a bounder to boot. If he gets suspended in the semi-final, then I might reconsider my position, because apart from him I think the Brazilians deserve to win.
I rather like the notion that Rikaard and Voeller look so radiant together the ‘morning after’ but those god awful pink dressing gowns need shooting – I’m instinctively pro Europe but if we have to follow that trend of couples wearing matching clothes, I say flood the channel tunnel. Pronto.
Have I seen Ronaldo’s haircut - I thought it was just a number one (shaver setting, as opposed to toiletry activity) ?
I found myself rooting for Germany, simply because although I admire the Koreans play, I think they have benefitted from some questionable calls. Thankfully Germany won and deserved to win, I think they played less reserved than against the US and had very nice build-ups.
I wouldn’t write Brazil in immediately as the other finalist. With Rinaldinho out I think Turkey has a great chance to win and I think the winner of tonight’s game will win the World Cup.
Yeah, Rijkaard and Voeller made up soon after the Llama Incident. It was one of those heat of the moment things, and Rijkaard apologised profusely. Couple of weeks after the match, IIRC.
