Get A Life

I have a problem with SDMB.

It looks like this forum belongs to a bunch of wheelchaired, physically or mentally handicapped, obese, ugly, “nothing better to do except sitting behind the computer” people.

There are people who have made over 2000 posts in a very short span. And when I run a search on them to figure out where they are coming from, all I get are pointless remarks.

Just as the mental hospitals and jails turn on the major “free” networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) for their audience, it appears we have a lot of people here with nothing else to do than to “participate”. That is what I call a Moron Channel.

There are sophisticated restaurants where the McDonald or Motor Cycle crowd (the riffraff) would not even get near, let alone being allowed to enter.

With people like Sparcs who just joined the forum in April 2002, having already 400 posts in May 2002, I am resigning from this bullshit forum of lonely, handicapped and desperate people.

Please go and resolve your psychotic problems through professional help rather than this forum. Get a life.

Based on your comment above, I doubt you will me missed.

(wipes away a tear)…Okay…but…I don’t know how we’ll go on without you…sob…

A literary excerpt:

“Most interesting” Spock said.

His eyes returned to Kirk. “During Mr. Galloway’s emotional outburst–his expressions of hatred and lust for vengance-- the alien’s life-energy level increased. When the lieutenant became unconscious, the alien lost energy.”

“A being that subsists on the emotions of others.” Kirk said.

“Such creatures are not unknown, Captain. I refer you tthe Drella of Alpha Carinae Five – energy creatures who are nourished by the cooperation of love they feel for one another.” He had neared the crystal and was looking up at it, composed and calm “This creature appears to be strenghtened by mental radiations of hostility, by violent intentions…”

It feeds – on hate!" Complete illumination dawned on Kirk.

“Yes, to put it simply, Captain. And it has acted as a catalyst to create this situation in order to satisfy that need. It has drawn fighting forces together, supplied crude weapons to promote the most most violent mode of conflict.”

Once again, I print this excerpt from Star Trek 11 “Day of the Dove” by James Blish for no reason at all.

Yes.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
Let it hit you in the head, instead. That would be much funnier, from where I’m sitting.

Oh hang on a minute, you didn’t get your ass whipped in some debate thread did you?

Oh yes. Having met numerous Dopers in person, I can assure you that this is absolutely the case. Unattractive, maladjusted, complete worthless wastes of skin. Especially that pldennison character.

Well, if it’s on company time, don’t knock it.

You sometimes have an interesting perspective on things so I’d be sorry to see you go.

One Cell, that is the funniest thing I’ve read in ages. Talk about “get a life”. My irony meter just exploded! Beautiful rant- wasting time while bitching about people wasting time.

Man, what a tool

Zette

GIGGLE

He’s SO CUTE! pinches One Cell’s ass

Cmon, tell me how ugly I am again! Turns me on, baby!

I don’t know what would be worse: being one of these wheelchaired, physically or mentally handicapped, obese, ugly, “nothing better to do except sitting behind the computer” people, or having such an empty life that I have to get my kicks from making them cry.

You bastard. My life is ruined.

(BTW, on the evidence of your 131 posts, it looks like you are the one with the psychosis. I mean that seriously.)

One (Brain) Cell?

K

Just as an aside, this rant seems to be a function of being soundly spanked by Sparc in an (I hesitate to dignify Onecell’s ravings with this word, but…) argument here. My favorite Onecellism is "The Titanic is sinking, and the waiters are re-arranging the chairs on the deck? "

What’s YOUR favorite Onecellism?

Fenris

Wow, I’m glad he didn’t mention me.

Hmm, his seat is still warm. I think I’ll take it before anyone else does.

Now…about this thing called “life” that you talk about…

One cell, I woild like to know where you live… to sue you (being a paraplejic you couldn’t expect me to kick your ass).

A single-celled life form, eh? Figures…

My favorite oncellism.

I hope he means it.

Hmmm another well conceived idea by One Cell. His not so famous final words it would seem.

I think concepts like multitasking, fluidity of mind and speed of thought would be wasted on the abject subject in question.

The abhorrent lack of substance and thoughtful conclusion that One Cell’s few, but deeply disturbing posts have displayed so far indicates that the need for ‘a life’ is on the accuser’s side rather than ours.

Not sure if London was worrying about me or One Cell leaving, I might reassure you regarding One Cell; he might go as an individual, but with millions of his ilk around in the world we’re unfortunately likely to see him and his ‘interesting opinions’ soon again in another guise and under another name. As for myself I’m always going somewhere, but so far I take pleasure in the honor of sharing the views and opinions of the ‘wheelchaired, physically or mentally handicapped, obese, ugly, “nothing better to do except sitting behind the computer” people’ that here stand accused. And re my sharing time between corporate and non-corporate time… I am the corporation, so don’t worry it’s all my own.

Bye, bye One Brain Cell, you shan’t be missed.

Oh BTW, I’m a tall, skinny, sportive, above average good looking, fashion conscious, socially well adapted, relatively young man working in a ‘hip’ industry. Hence, off the board most people don’t know my real nature; I’m proud to be a super nerd at heart and I wish I was more of a geek! So thanks for the compliment One Cell!

PS. It’s nice to see that the walls of defense work, but sometimes I worry that sending these ignoramuses scurrying off to the IRC teeny chats is not productive out of the viewpoint of the greater cause. It’s a fine line between inclusion and exclusion. DS.
