Get error 500 when dong searches

Haven’t been able to do searches today. I get a server error 500 when I try.

Don’t search for dongs then.

I have a dong from my “visit” to Vietnam. It’s not worth a dong.

More importantly, don’t use your dong to search.

I just did a search successfully. However, I’ve noticed the search function can be very iffy. Still, I’m stubborn, I’ve been a paid member since pay to post and I always try the search function on the board first before resorting to a Google search.

I’ve heard of using a Dictaphone, but…

Using a Dictaphone would be a Dick Search. The OP is using a Dongaphone.

I thought you’d need a dongle for that.

I’ve been able to do searches, even for dongs. First recommendation is to clear cache and reboot.

Ding-dong that’s it!

Is this a serious suggestion, or am i being whooshed?

Given the history of the search function on this board, any suggestion that the problem rests with the end user’s browser or computer is, quite frankly, hilarious.

Doubly so when the error is a server error, as is the case with 500 errors.

Could be both? I mean I meant it seriously, but I am not the most technically savvy person unfortunately. When a user reports a problem, I tend to try to replicate it. My search worked, so that’s about the limit of what I can do :\ I have seen other people make the same suggestion so it’s always worth a shot.

I’m unclear what the dong is searching for.

Pr0n, like everyone else.

Error 500 is on the server side. It’s kind of a general purpose error code and is basically the server saying “dude, sorry, I f***ed up” without giving any further details.

Since it is on the server side, there isn’t anything that you can do. Clearing your cache, restarting your computer, etc. won’t help.

500 errors can be caused by server overload.

The search engine around here is also well known to be more than a bit wonky. Certain terms will cause it to fail for no reason whatsoever. Sometimes if you are searching for multiple terms, simply re-arranging the terms can make it work. Sometimes not. The search engine that we use is tied to the version of vBulletin that we have here, so it’s not going to get fixed any time soon. If you keep getting errors searching for certain terms, then google is probably your only solution. See the sticky at the top of this forum for details on how to do various searches here using google.

Using your typing dong works.

I found Dong Work For Yuda, if that helps.

DISCLAIMER: Googling one’s dong brings with it the risk of creating an unauthorized sticky at the top of the page.

Just saw this thread title, and my heart was filled with hope as I clicked…

I was not disappointed.

Dong.

I think somebody is stealth bragging just a bit-It was really just a Error 250, wasn’t it?
