Get Fuzzy meets Pearls Before Swine

Has anyone notcied this week’s strips??? Lordy! Good stuff!

First read Get Fuzzy from 4/17, then Pearls Before Swine 4/18, then Get Fuzzy 4/18. I’m sure the effect is even more funny on the actual funny page if you get both strips (which I don’t)

Ha! Excellent! I like how it’s not even “redrawn” - the dog’s just stuck in front of the…uh…other dog? Anyway, very funny.

LOL, that’s great.

Reminds me of some of the comics they do for the on-campus newspaper here at Texas A&M around April Fools day.

Zebra (“zeeba neighba” to you crocs out there). Yeah, our paper actually runs PBS right beneath GF, so it’ very effective.

The Portland Oregonian prints Get Fuzzy right above Pearls Before Swine, and the effect this week is hilarious!

The Toronto Sun doesn’t carry PBS, and I missed yesterday’s GF, so I had NO idea what was going on in GF (except that it was a PBS crossover, and it was kind of amusing) until I went online, read today’s PBS and found yesterday’s GF.

Sigh. Okay. We had a ha-ha today. Is it still going to be funny tomorrow…? And aren’t comics crossovers getting kind of old…?

the newpaper here has them on separate pages. very funny.

there have been quite a few cross overs lately.

Looking back through this month’s Pearls Before Swine brought up this terrific crossover.

Pearls is about the only comic that elicits chuckles out of me anymore.

Find the Baby Blues right after that series - the joke continues there.

The best was the Family Circle in Guitmo.

Did that series start with Osama bin Laden hiding out with the Family Circus family because they were the most clueless family in all of America?

Yeah, that’s the one.

I noticed the crossover thing and I thought it was funny because they never used to do this in the newspapers, but it happens all the time in the online comics.

I believe the two writers are good friends, which makes it a bit funnier.

It made me laugh because Pearls does this to other comics all the time. It’s amusing to see someone do it to Pearls.

Obviously they are just as clueless as I am about a comic I haven’t read since I was twelve.

I’m sorry but I can’t believe anyone thinks this is funny. I saw that cartoon yesterday and thought “damn, Get Fuzzy is really starting to suck now!” The interminable “Boogy/Booger/etc” joke was horrid, and now this. I despise Pearls Before Swine. It is the stupidest strip ever and NEVER funny. Get Fuzzy used to be good. I get the feeling the writer has run out of ideas and is just phoning it in now.

I think Conley and Pastis are friends in real life, or at least know each other (many cartoonists stick together)- last year, they collaborated on an April Fools joke along with Foxtrot’s Bill Amend in which the same basic gag was used in all three strips.
