Mods, not sure if this thread is in the right forum – my apologies if it’s not.
Like many of the posters here, I’m a huge fan of The Tick; I’m awaiting the live-action series with baited breath, and plan on having a Tick party at my apartment to celebrate. (I’m currently debating on whether I want to be The Tick or El Seed.)
However, I absolutely adored the animated series when it was on TV, but don’t have any of it on tape. I know that two of the episodes (The Tick vs. The Idea Men, for one) are available for purchase, but I want the entire series, dammit! Does any Doper know a way that I can get a VHS copy of the animated series (all three seasons, IIRC)? A legal way, mind you; I’m not looking to violate any copyright laws here.
Thanks, Mr. Blue Sky. Unfortunately, last time I checked, Amazon and B&N only carry one or two episodes, and I’m looking to get all three seasons’ worth (and Fox only saw fit to put those two episodes on tape, as far as I know).
The site below often has old videos listed. I don’t have any first or even second-hand experience with this company, so you’re on your own. I keep hoping that if I’m very patient, I’ll find a DVD set of these episodes.
I got the entire series on VHS from eBay. Whether or not it was legal is another question. I know that some companies do get permission to re-sell episodes, and the eBay does do copywrite checks on their auctions (I know this because I’ve had many an auction canceled because of this.) This tends me to think that I aquired them only slightly illegally.
If you want copies, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
Thanks, bouv. I appreciate the offer, but at the same time, don’t want to conduct transactions even semi-illegally (maybe I’m being a little paranoid here, but I don’t want to take any possible copyright-infringement actions that might get SDMB in hot water). I’ll have to keep my eyes open on Ebay for them as well.
