Getting from Denver Airport to Downtown Denver

I am traveling to Denver in April, and the hotel I am staying at in Downtown Denver does not have a courtesy shuttle.

I did a bit of searching and learned that:

  1. Taxi is out (too expensive)
  2. Renting a car for 2 days may be the most cost-effective (about $100)
  3. Using an airport shuttle may be the cheapest option (about $50 round trip)
  4. There are some public transportation options (but the web site is not clear on what they are)

Any recommendations?

Here is the RTD schedule and stops for rides to and from DIA, but you might want to use a shuttle service. It will drop you right at your airline, and pick up from a designated spot after your trip.

It depends on what else you are doing during your time here. If you are just planning on staying downtown then you can take an airport shuttle or a bus. The public transportation downtown is not bad at all, however if you are planning on going anywhere outside of downtown then the options are more limited and I would recommend renting a car.

Super Shuttle, I have used it many times from DIA to downtown Denver hotels. Roundtrip should be $44 plus taxes and maybe a tip. Its going to be far nicer, easier, and faster than public transit.

Thanks… about how long is the ride?

Maybe 20 minutes except during rush hour (such as it exists here).

Since there have been a few serious answers:
I suggest organizing a Dopefest. And then ask for a pick-up at the airport.

Ah…yes. Promise a few pints at Fado and people will be borrowing someone’s 'vette to come and get you at the airport.

Shuttle is definitely the least expensive. $43 per http://shuttleprices.com

Some private services are offered as well. It may be worth a little extra to not have to be in a shared van.
