Thursday I am flying back to New Jersey from Tampa International. My flight is at 9:40am so I know I should be there by 7:30AM. I’m going to be coming from the San Antonio FL area.
I’ve looked into shuttle services but the are around $80. I don’t know what Taxi services cover this area and if they would be less expensive. I used UBER to get here an from the airport and that was about $38. I don’t mind sitting in a 24 hour coffee shop or restaurant in TAMPA for 5 to 6 hours if they have WiFi, power and won’t throw me out if the logistics are better but I don’t know of any places. If I take my dad’s car to the airport there is no way to get it back to his house so that is not an option.
I am looking for the most economical way to get from my fathers house to Tampa International Airport.
I am not familiar with traffic in that area and do not know how early I would have to leave. I also do not know the availability of UBER or LYFT which may be the most economical option.
I do know it would cost less to go from a place in downtown Tampa to the airport so I am trying to figure out if that is an option.
If you’re travelling from his house to downtown Tampa, why not just take whatever mode of transportation you’re using and head straight to the airport? The airport isn’t far from downtown by any stretch of the imagination, so why pay twice for the same thing?
Unless you can get a friend to drive you, I think going the Taxi/uber route is your best bet. Honestly using a classic Taxi would be best because I can’t imagine an uber driver, who is probably local, would want to drive from San Antonio all the way to Tampa just for one fare. A cabbie wouldn’t care at all.
I do not have any friends who can drive me. My family members in the area won’t do it either. I’ve looked at Taxi rates online and I’m getting quotes around $100.00 which is more than I really can afford to pay. My time has a cost to me of $0.00 right now so the most economical way is what I am looking for.
