I recently upgraded my home office suite to Office 2003. By and large, I love Outlook 2003 - it’s a huge improvement over its predecessor, and a few personal idiosyncrasies notwithstanding I really like it.
But one problem is getting the (much upgraded) security to cooperate fully with my Palm. I have a Zire 71, which I use constantly. And I’ve noticed that Outlook syncs with the Palm only reluctantly - initially, warning me that “something” was trying to access my address book, and then asking me how long I could give it access for. Of course, the maximum is a grand total of 10 minutes, which is good for, oh, maybe four syncs if I’m lucky. And when Outlook slams shut in the middle of a sync, the Palm gets all cranky and has to be rebooted. Not a big deal, but a time consuming annoyance when I’m trying to sync the Palm as I’m vaulting out my front door.
What I’d like to tell Outlook is that the Palm is just, well, me, and that it should back down. (“Sparky, it’s me! Down boy! OWWW!”) But I can’t find anything in the security settings that would seem to address this question, and I haven’t been able to configure a Help search (either in MS or Palm support) that covered what I’m thinking.
Anyone have experience with this issue? Any ideas most appreciated.
