VersaMail: Palm Settings to get Home Email

I have a Palm T/X and I sync it at home (maybe once a month) and at work (daily). The web pages for AVANTGO update perfectly, but darn it, I never get my home account email.

(When I synch from my home PC, I get my mail, but hey, if I’m at my home PC, I can just read it off the screen)

My home email is through Comcast and the auto-mail setup from the disk leaves these settings:

Incoming Mail Server: mail.comcast.net

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.comcast.net

Ive double checked & changed the screenname & password to match my home account without effect.

Q: Whats the SNAFU? What am I doing wrong & what can I do to fix it?

PS- Buying a different make/model handheld is not an option.

PPS- It doesn’t uptdate from WIFI either, and indicates that the DNS settings are not correct. Also, when I test my connections off my work PCvia Palm Desktop, I get the error “SSL connections are not supported.”

Edit: SSL is a secure connection. I’ve disabled that & now get “The specified server is invalid or is not responding.
Cannot form a connection to the server.”

How are you trying to connect the Palm device to the internet? That seems like the problem.

I have it attached by hotsynch cable currently. Most of the WIFIs by me are all locked down/secure. Still, I’ve been in coffee shops with free wifi and gotten the same errors even when I could surf the web.
