There’s a community-funded prize for the development of an open-source replacement for Apple’s .Mac services that I’ve given $10 to, and while contributions to the prize have come from all over the world, Indian participation is noticeably absent. A few people say they’re working on a solution, but progress is a little slower than I’d hoped. It seems to me that there must be Mac developers in India for whom the $7,500 prize would be quite a windfall, however, I don’t know how to get their attention. Every major Mac website has done a piece on the prize as have many general technology sites (it was even featured on the front page of the New York Times’ website), but despite a lot of searching, I can’t find an Mac-related websites, blogs or forums that cater to the Indian Mac community. Can anyone here suggest how to generate awareness of the prize in India?
I’m not including a link to the site, because, as a first-time poster to this forum, I don’t want to risk making this genuine question appear to be spam intended to drive traffic.
