Giant Buddha statue you can go inside?

I have a memory of when I was three or four years old, of visiting a giant statue of a Buddha that people could go inside.

False memory? Or did I go there? Where?

There’s one in Kamakura, Japan. I’ve been inside it.

I think that’s the one! It looks like it does in my vague memory, and we lived in Hayama.

I have been there too! I even have a picture of his sandals!
(tried to link to my photo, can’t figure it out) They are really big!
