Giant Inflatable Christmas Lawn Ornaments

Anybody own one of these?

Every morning when I drive to work, I see these ornaments all over the place, but they’re all deflated. What gives? What causes them to deflate overnight?

If it’s the kind I think you mean, where they need a blower to stay inflated and standing, then the families probably turn off their blowers at night.

This is the style I mentioned:

Does that look right?

This is the kind I have (Bought mainly to cheese off our neighbors). It has a little fan and a light in a cage at the bottom. I have it set on a timer so it turns on at dusk and turns off at about 11. I suspect most people have a similar set up.

ISTR reading somewhere that leaving one of those, inflated, out in the rain would somehow damage it. Is that true?

A guy in town has two of those on his front law- a Homer Simpson Santa and a regular, traditional Santa. One day last week we were having really high winds, and the way the winds swirled around in this guy’s yard made the two figures rock back in forth in such a way that it looked like Homer & Santa were fighting.

I had nothing to do with it. I was out fishing that night. And you can’t prove anything, anyway.

Rut roh!!

. . . and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids . . .
