Giant Mystery Eyeball Discovered on South Florida Beach

For once, the weird headline lives up to the hype. There’s even a picture:

I throw it open to the Dopers: What is this eyeball from? Points for originality.

I love the speculation in the article: “a giant squid ripped out a whale’s eye” - now, there’s a battle royale.

Attack of the The Eye creatures?

Actually, though, my money’s on a giant squid – they’ve got the largest eyes in the animal kingdom (up to 30 cm, I think). However, why nothing but a (rather well-preserved) eye would wash ashore, I don’t know… (In keeping with the B-film theme, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus?)

Jabba’s palace is missing its gatekeeper.

Being blue, I’d assume it’s obviously from a large Swedish tourist.

The Kraken!

Patrick McGoohan

Nah, it’s clearly belonging to a nameless eldritch horror from the vasty deeps. Probably was playing with some ghastly and cyclopean (hehe) BB gun. Should have listened to it’s mother. They really will put your eye out.

Loaded with squamous and rugose BBs, perhaps.

Cyclops.
Well, now a blind cyclops.

It’s from a group of large dolphins.

They’re an eye pod.

mmmkay?

groan!!!

Sauron

An extra from a remake of The Crawling Eye.

Mike Wazowski

A pupil from a school of very large fish, perhaps?

It’s a remake of Blue Velvet. Only not an ear.
