Gift Help Needed!!!!

My best friend from college is getting married and I need suggestions for a gift.

Background Info - feel free to skip ahead

She was married 10 years ago in a very quick wedding to a wonderful guy. Their honeymoon was coming to Montgomery so she could be in my wedding. They proceeded to have 3 kids. After nearly 10 years of horrible illness, Husband died last June. So here we are, six months later, and I just got an email saying that she is getting married just after midnight New Year’s Day. She had a no-fuss wedding in her parents house last time and this one will be in her house. I don’t know the husband-to-be; he’s a widower (no kids) from another state. They’ll be living here for a while. This is not my problem.

**This ** is my problem: What do I send for a wedding present? She is supremely Southern, militantly religious, home schools the kids, had weight reduction surgery last year, and tends to be allergic to flowers.

And I need to order something really quick so it will get there this week. No pressure.

A nice photo album or picture frame always makes a nice wedding gift. We certainly used all the ones that were given to us. At a jewelry store, they might even have some that you can get engraved with their names and the date of the wedding.

Since both of them are suffering from prior losses, I would suggest something extremely romantic…

  1. Gift basket full of non-caloric goodies that they like.

  2. Bottle of fine wine and two crystal wine glasses.

  3. Two tickets to Jamaica.

  4. Tickets for a play or an evening out.

Jamaica? Wow that *would * be cool, but I’m a state employee. They don’t pay us real money, we just get tons of holidays. I think I need to put a price range on this - between $25 and $75 dollars.

But very good ideas. Thanks!

A really big, pretty, family Bible, since they’re going to be a new family and all.

You know, the kind that people keep birth certificates and other genealogical records in.

OK, then. How about Jamaica, GEORGIA? On Amtrak around $50 bucks or so.
