Driving around Arcadia after leaving Santa Anita racetrack, we spied this restaurant and HAD to get a picture of it. I bet you can figure out why.
And you went there too, dintcha!
Tris
Ruffian, I hear they have a special on Cream of Sum Yung Gai (#69).
They could have called it the Glory Hole or the Kum-n-Go…oh wait, those stores already exist. People should really ask around before choosing a name for their business.
Not quite the same, but also delicious.
What’s the dish of the day? Tentacle Sushi?
Reminds me of a sign somewhere – might have been engrish.com – of a Korean restaurant named “Fuk Mi”
Long Wongs There used to be one a couple of miles from me, but I never summoned the courage to go in since it looked pretty skeevy.
Cook at home instead, and buy your groceries at the Shun Fat Market on Atlantic Blvd in (what else?) Monterey Park, California.
? What does “hentai” mean in whatever language it is that makes this funny or inappropriate?
It’s slang for “Japanese anime pornography,” although Wikipedia says the Japanese themselves don’t use the word that way.
That restaurant actually merged with a German company to create the new chain, “Fuk Mi Hadder”.
is that NAMBLA’s favorite restruant?
In Japan it just means “pervert”, and not in a cute, playful, sense. Porno anime is just called “adult anime”.
There is a takeaway place in Lincoln named Legal Food. I would get a picture if I could but this is all I could find.
Mmm…tasty!
While driving down Altantic Ave. in Brooklyn a few months ago, I saw a take-out Chinese joint named “Long Line Restaurant”.
It was closed (out of business).
Unfortunately I couldn’t do the camera phone thing while driving.
First off in the Northeast you can go to Legal Seafood.
There is a mini mall near me called the Bang Luck Plaza. Sounds like a great place for a first date.
Ruffian, opening a file named like that can get you noticed at work.
Noted, Bosda. I changed the file name to something more benign to keep everyone work-happy in the New Year.
New linky link:
Unfortunate name
“Found porn” was a section in Maxim magazine for pictures just like that one, thus the name choice.
Not in the samwe league as these, but down near Tom’s River, N.J. there’s a Chinese Restaurant inexplicably named
Hey Birds
Every time I pass it I get Hey Jude running through my mind.
