I like it. But mainly because of the way Lauren Graham looks in those very tight jeans she wears. Oh, and the witty dialogue. 
I absolutely love it. And I don’t say that about many shows on TV; there’s less than a handful that I watch regurarly.
The greatest thing about it must be the dialogue. It’s the wittiest, funniest dialogue I’ve heard on TV I think. But, as a previous poster wrote, it’s still got a natural feeling to it.
Plus, Lauren Graham (Lorelai) is HOT ! That’s a great bonus to a show that would be great even without that fact.
Maybe a (small) spoiler for you who haven’t seen anything of Season 4 yet, but…those pants with the words “J U I C Y” spelled out on her backside? W-O-W !
I’m fond of it, but I have to say I think it is declining a bit. At times it strives just a little too hard to be quirky and cute now, when in the first season or two it seemed more effortless.

My Daddy (mid fifties) adores this show. I spent a couple years forced to tape Buffy b/c he HAD to watch Gilmore Girls. And he still does.
It’s the quick wit and lines that suck us all in.
