Hrm. I’m befuddled.
Seems that last fall I bought myself a HP Jornada PDA that uses a USB port and runs Pocket PC, with Microsoft ActiveSync as it’s program to sync up with my home desktop. Said PDA has faithfully carried me through to this day.
Seems that two days ago, my IT folks got me a used (but still worthy) iPAQ PDA for use at work. I say to myself, "Self, there’s no damn sense in carrying two PDAs. Leave your one at home, and just carry the business one between work and home [sub]I’m a genius, I swear[/sub]. Why carry two?
So, I figure, that since HP and Compaq are one in the same, they are both PocketPC, and both use MS ActiveSync, all I gotta do is plug the work PDA into my home and I’m set!
I plug the work PDA into my home machine, and it doesn’t recognize it. I haven’t tried the home PDA on the work machine (I will tomorrow), but is it a hard-and-fast rule that Windows only recognizes one mobile device per system? Do I have to ‘uninstall’ the one PDA before I can use the other? Do I have to completely geek out and carry two PDAs [sub]although it would make me look cool[/sub]. Is it possible, or should I just give up?
