Simply horrible. All of it.
Blech.
Sadly, the Fab Four record has been beaten several times by songs debuting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
I know I listened to it, so why I can’t I remember anything about it?
You can find video’s of some of Britney’s older songs on Youtube. Check out “Slave 4 U”, “Stronger”, and “Oops…I Did It Again”.
I’m not a huge fan of Britney’s brand of bubblegum dance-pop, but I’ll be the first one to admit “Toxic” is a damn good song. It owes more to her producer than to her, but it’s GOOD. Sexy video, too.
I’m not a fan of modern pop, but I honestly liked that one. And, having spotted Britney on the cover of Allure magazine yesterday at the grocery store, I think she looks much sexier with the black hair than with the blond.
Im tickled pink to hear that Britney’s latest is doing well. She is who she is, how did people expect her to behave, given her life history? She seemed to get a lot of hate for stupid shenanigans that would barely rate a “Meh” in a less famous person. It’s sweet to see her succeeding despite all that.
The picture in question. Of course she looks much better with all the photoshopping and the wig…Every time I’ve seen her on TV lately, she’s looked really rough, and now we’re supposed to believe just a few months later, she looks like this…
That said, I kind of like the new song. I never liked Britney all that much, but I did really like “Toxic”. This one has a similar vibe, but isn’t quite as good because the lyrics are so boring.
It was the 1960’s.
Nobody had crotches.
Nobody knew who paps were either.

I am not going to do the fair thing and give it a listen, for many reasons: Britney (or her public persona) disgusts me; she doesn’t need any more money; she not only disgusts me, she makes me angry, acting the way she apparently does with two small children she is responsible for; etc. etc . etc.
Well thank you for telling us!
But they DID know who the Pips were.
Last I checked, listening to a leaked version of her song online (even on her MySpace) doesn’t make her any money, but keep fighting the good fight, man!
I think you’re picking the part that he cares least about and smacking it with a mallet. In other words, listening to her song, her getting a dime or not getting a dime from him listening to the song doesn’t matter. It’s evreything else that matters.
Punk.
She actually won my heart with the “It’s Britney, bitch” in the beginning. Loved that.
I don’t listen to much pop music, but I have always liked Janet Jackson, Madonna, Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, and yes, Britney. This new song is a nice one.
I don’t have a problem with her personal life interferring with my appreciation of her mastery of pop music.
If I let an artist’s personal life interfere with my appreciation for their art, well, I would have to cancel my membership to the Strong Art Gallery downtown.
Didn’t listen to it yet but I’ll assume it’s like her previous stuff which is catchy.
However, I give pretty much 1% credit to her for how good her music is.
She doesn’t write it. She doesn’t produce it. She doesn’t mix it. Her voice is mixed over and over with added backup vocals of professionals.
To me her music is catchy because of the talent of the producers behind the scenes. These are the folks making the catchy tunes. She’s just a voice track added in later.
“Toxic” is a killer song off her last album and I give full credit to the people behind the scenes that created that song. But you could have replaced Britney with Paris Hilton, Linsey Lohan, or some no-name female voice off the street and it would be the same song.
Ah…but did you see the video for toxic? I mean, I can’t put my finger on it, but Britney does have some sort of star quality. Something in the way she regards the camera is very magnetic. I know she isn’t a great artist, or even a good singer…but I do think she is a good performer, and I do place her above Paris and Lindsay.
She is not talented in the way that Christina Aquilera is, of course. But she does got that something…
And nobody would have bought it.
Why should I bother listening to it when I’ll be pummeled with it on the radio and MTV in a few weeks? Even if I end up liking it in the end, If I can postpone having to listen to it I will.
Yeah, in fact I just watched the video the other day (it’s currently on Comcast’s OnDemand). I thought the video was awful and she was doing a lot of that odd chicken-head jerk thing she does.
I think she was a good performer when she was younger but definately not over the past 7 years.
