Gimme more Emoji

AKA “happyyid”.

May his memory be a blessing.

OK, if we could get new emojis designed by Slug, in that case I would be all in favor of them.

Meanwhile, though, image emojis explicitly enabled by a site are an anachronism nowadays, anyway. Why do you want us to move backwards? We’re not stuck in the past, here.❤☀

It’s my understanding that several court cases winding through the system were going to require all social media include the dancing banana emoji but luckily the scrapping of net neutrality should put the kibosh on that.

That’s just a bunch of ? marks on my screen. The thing is, image emojis always work. Even if, like Twitter or Facebook, you just convert real emojis to image emojis.

I think we need an emoji with little X’s for eyes and his tongue hanging out listlessly, just for the OP.

(:heavy_multiplication_x:╭╮:heavy_multiplication_x:) Best I can do.

At least go back to the ones we had before; they were much better.

I consider The Dope as the New York Times of MBs.

:beer::beer:

This. I’d be happy just if one could be guaranteed that the standard emojis would display properly.

My SDMB Old Smileys userscript is still around, for use with the Tampermonkey or Greasemonkey addons to any browser (except Internet Explorer).

And I’ve just put out a CSS-only version up for people who want to use the Stylish addon instead.

You’re doing The Lords work BigT. She’d be mighty proud.

It would be nice if we could upload avatars … I don’t see how that could be abused …

There must be an internet rule for “anything can be abused, and will be”.

The guy I was talking to (Crazyhorse) has an SDMB Avatars script. Google it.

It won’t make them consistent (as part of the problem is the forum software), but you can install Chromoji to get nice pretty emoji in Chrome. Clicking the button even gives you a list of them you can click on.

That’s what I use on Windows 7. Windows 8 or higher may have color emoji already.

Looks too much like the Conklin clown.

:stuck_out_tongue:

The excuse used to be that every single poster would make goatse their avatar. Or even worse. The avatar would be animated and that would make this the worst site on the internet because we are about our words and we stand by what we write and not the big-tittied animated anime girl we would all make as our avatar.

Image emojis are for losers. Real posters use keyboard characters that don’t get converted.

I dunno; sometimes you really need a barf smiley.
