But the trick is you don’t have to use them. Just being able to choose from some more, particularly in lighthearted banter type situations would be fun.
Twice we added custom smilies. Both times it started with a thread in which folks made suggestions and then there was preliminary voting to obtain the primary candidates and finally a championship match from which the winner was chosen.

I never thought these events should take place too often (and thus clutter up the array of smilies with too many options). But I think it’s been well over a decade and we could probably consider accommodating another one. Or we could replace one of the existing ones. No one likes the modern rolleyes; the green one was so much more contemptuous and we want it back! The embarrassed face wasn’t good before (looked like a blowjob-face to many board regulars) but now it looks constipated and there’s a lot of room for custom improvement.
