Gotti, are you sure you live on The Left Coast, and not in Da South?
If you were secretly in Kentucky or West Virginia, the fridge would be on your front porch…

So, I sold six prints! Way neat. I am now break even and have current copies of everything. (Well, on order, but paid for.) At last a hobby that isn’t costing me money! (Well, not counting the cost of driving places to take pictures.)
I really wanted to crow about it, but didn’t think it deserved resurrecting a zombie thread, or starting a new one.
No need to say anything, though.
Tris
Yay, Tris!! I’m trying to make my pottery self-supporting. I only need to sell about $5000 worth of stuff to break even! OK, so I don’t expect to make back the cost of the kiln and wheel, but I figure as long as I can pay for the clay, glaze, and firing from here on out, that’s good. It’ll keep me outta trouble, theoretically.
Sorry to hear about your Mom’s accident, Taters.
And please explain why Idiot Co-Worker is still employed? We volunteer to assist with the neck-wringing.
Keep muddling through, SO. Sounds like you’re almost done with phase 1.
Cool about the fridge, gotti! (Heh.)
Sorry about all the sad events around you, Jahdra. I know how awful it feels to have people around you losing relatives when you’re thinking of your own. Whenever friends lose parents, I always feel the loss of my own father, once again. Hugs.
Where has BooFae got herself to?
Feel better soon, rosie.
Tired. Early bedtime has been declared.
Is it Friday yet?

LiLi, repeat after me: “Bad planning on your part is NOT an emergency on my part”.
ETA: Then write it on a 2X4 and hit your cow-orker over the head with it repeatedly until he gets a clue.
Yay! I have internet!
NooneSpecial, he died in 1993. I was seventeen. And it was really, really hard, but I’m okay about it now. Time does make a difference. And my parents had been divorced for several years, so while it was indeed difficult for MT, it wasn’t as bad as it might have been otherwise. I just wish I could have had him around for longer; there’s so much that’s happened to me!
I made it all the way to Yakima, which means I have a nice two and a half hours or so to go; it’d be less time, except for all the mountains. Not that I’m complaining about mountains. I love mountains, which is a damn good thing since I live in the middle of a lot of them! I was seriously tempted to go ahead and go through Portland and up the coast from there, but that would add hours of drivetime that I don’t want added. That’s about my favorite stretch of anyplace anywhere, so I think I was a damn good girl for not doing it.
Today at work was the day everybody decided they needed to have long, pointless meetings. And they all invited me! I feel so special.
I haven’t really caught up here, so let me just get by with all appropriate expressions of awe/sympathy/joy/bewilderment.
BusWife is avidly watching the cubby game. I sit uninvolved, and finishing Witches Abroad, while Cuervo chases Scarlett all about the place.
Sometimes I think my life is too exciting.
I can’t believe I’m gonna be the first one to do this …
… in bed
::snerk::
More later - baby hungry
Well, if he measures up to your standards, then he must be pretty good.
That memo was sent out ages ago. You must not be on the distribution list.
::adding Sean to the the useless memos distribution list:: There. . . fixed!
See, this is how it’s supposed to work. You just say this part and people already do envy you without you having to say.
Your thought process didn’t go far enough. Add this:
But lucky me, I can call fellow Mumper Lili who will sing to me on the phone. (albeit a little off-key)
All is right with the world again.
Just don’t look up and open my mouth and I’ll be fine.
Since we know that you’re fluent in two languages, are you trying to tell us something? :dubious:
Well, I guess you’ve been understandably distracted lately. Here’s where Mork offered you the room for “comfort.” He used other words but I like my euphemism better. And here’s where I jumped you and got the key to room 304. You must have gotten away from me. I should have tied you to the bedpost. Sigh. It didn’t used to be this complicated to “comfort” someone. :::trudging off to get the ropes and chains:::
There aren’t any wise men in the east? And they keep telling us that the east coast are where all the smart people are located. I knew it wasn’t true.
Hey swampy, nice to see you!!
gotti, congrats on the new fridge.
Tris, congrats on selling the prints. But for some reason, I read your post 4 times and each time that looked like pints to me, so I wondered what you were selling by the pint.
Sean, take note: MBG didn’t have to add the “Envy me” part because that goes without saying.
**
Dotty**, how goes it this morning? Any word on the interviews yet? Should we be crossing our appendages?
Since we’re on a Kenny Loggins roll with kai joining the club. ~waving~ to kai, here’s another one.
Meet Me Halfway
[Kenny Loggins]In a lifetime
Made of memories
I believe
In destiny
Every moment returns again in time
When I’ve got the future on my mind
Know that you’ll be the only one
Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
to only you and I
Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life.
In a lifetime
There is only love
Reaching for the lonely one
We are stronger when we are given love
When we put emotions on the line
Know that we are the timeless ones[/Kenny Loggins]
Good night to all the people on this side of the planet and good morning to all the people on the other side!
I am suggesting that the MMP get a stenographer every night. I am too exhausted to read and would enjoy a summary.
Me? I am sleep deprived.
Well wishes. Hello’s. And oh my God look out for that hippo!
Here’s the short version.
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. With some hijinks in the middle.
**MT **and **SnowBunny **-- thanks for the explanation. Sad story… sorry I made you both remember it again
That I have been exposed to other people who have been learning (or trying to learn) either one of those languages as a second language, and have seen them in action (or inaction)?
Me, I’m not fluent in a second language – I’m fluent in two “mother tongues.” It’s a big difference (as my not-too-bad but far inferior French, which I took in high school, will attest!)
Ah, so that’s why the bed in 304 has big metal rings affixed to the headboard!?
Sounds like fun…
Of sourse there are
Wait… a few months from now!? I’m **way **early to the appointment, then! :smack:
Where has BooFae got herself to?
Yes, where is she? And Nava and Zelie seem to be MIA, as well. Somebody please check to make sure Europe hasn’t gone completely under in the interim?
gotti ‘grats on the beerator! Mine lives in the laundry room. And you got it about Chill. Tastes like Sprite mixed with beer to me. Ick! However, some people like it. Since Chill has never been canned before, it is felt that it must be put through all sorts of testing in the can first. IMO, beer in a bottle tastes better than beer in a can even though I do by canned beer as well as bottled beer. Plus, I reckon this is how somebody at corporate justifies havin’ a job.
Yay on sellin’ the prints Tris. Whether or not you make any big time bucks, it’s nice to know people appreciate your work, right?
Up and caffienatin’ here. Soon I’ll make myself purty for work. Light blue pocket tshirt and blue jeans today. Always the f-aaa-bu-lous-ly dressed brewry worker am I!
Y’all have a good day or afternoon or evenin’ whatever it is wherever ya are!
Here’s the short version.
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. With some hijinks in the middle.
Well, I guess we may as well close the thread now…
Day off and I’m up. I’ve been mostly up for a couple of hours anyway. **FCD ** has been in a cuddling mode lately, but when he falls asleep, he gets little twitches in his hand which ends up in close proximity to my head or arm. That’s not to say that he hits or punches, but if you get twitched out of a deep sleep, chances are it seems lots worse than it is. Then when I skootch over to the other side of the bed, he helps me out by pulling the covers up. Then I push them off, and he pulls them up. If he doesn’t quit helping me, I’ma gonna smack him!
OK, I know it’s mostly a reaction to his meds and he’s just trying to take care of me, so it’d be mean to yell “Back off, sick boy!!!” but sometimes I feel like that. Plus I didn’t take any sleep aids last night 'cause I forgot. Dummy me. Bottom line, I’m up and in 2 hours, I get to leave for the dentist.
And now that I’ve got my morning complaining out of the way, I need breakfast of some sort. I’ve got my caffeine close at hand, but I do need something more substantial. Too bad we don’t have any leftover pizza in the fridge.
It’s morning. I’m almost awake. Oatmeal is in the microwave.
I think Nava is on the road, SO. Can’t remember where she was stopping on the way home, but I think it was going to be a leisurely trip. zelie comes and goes pretty regularly; I’m sure she’ll stop by again soon…
You look dapper, as always, swampy.
I’m off to eat breakfast… Almost the long weekend. Yay!
GT
Up and caffeinating, soo to be at work. I had fun tailgating(How can you not have fun with four cases of free Molson Canadian?)
Well, the very expensive Lunestra was not a big help. Made me sleepy, no problem. I was still up three different times last night and am up now at 7:30, after going to bed at 2. So a lot of money for not a lot of help. I wish he had given me a sample; it sure would have saved me money.
I’m probably going to go back to bed and get a bit more sleep, then get up and go run errands.
I have 12 books on their way to me from PaperBackSwap, including some Terry Pratchett and some Tanith Lee. Life is reasonably good.
It’s about time for me to leave for the dentist’s to be, um, dented?? Dishes are washing, dehumidifiers are emptied, I’m showered, and when I get back, I’ll do some laundry before we hit the road. Gonna be a fun day…
Ewww. I woke up with Cuervo’s ‘girlfriend’. the little stuffed grey cat that he does ‘things’ with - on my bed. Inches from my pillow.
I must be a deeper sleeper than I thought.
Mornin’, y’all.
Too lame for the Pit, I wish the business end of a 1920’s Style Death Ray[sup]tm[/sup] on the wussies of both sexes that drive 40 MPH in a 55 zone when there’s the slightest bit of fog on the horizon.
Sean, how close was that plane crash to Chez Factotum? For those in the dark, an experimental plane crashed in Chesapeake during rush hour, without a happy ending. Messed up traffic until midnight…
Caffeine consumed; carry on.
