Give it a rest already, folks.

So if someone genuinely wonders about the converse of an existing thread, they’re an idiot? Fuck off and don’t read 'em.

Um no kiddin’…

What he said. People are posting something light, silly and that requires little thought other than “what do you THINK” for a reason. Sometimes you want to zone out with “Dharma and Greg” sometimes you want to read "Crime and Punishment.

If you want heavy, deep thought-provoking issues…here’s a thought.

Stay OUT of the forums that were specifically designed to BE fluff and stuff.

Anger management worked for me!

No, it doesn’t bother me at all.
If I don’t like something, then I don’t read it.
I have no interest in more than half of the threads that I see on this message board. I skip over it. What I might be disinterested in, someone else might be interested in. I have no say in what threads should or should not be posted.

There are many brands of decaf that taste just as good as the real thing.

I like some of those threads. The Mom-Dad fight one really got me thinking about gender roles, expectations, etc. Sometimes fluff can lead to substance. I am a little ticked that Otto beat me to it

Hell, I like 'em. It’s a different perspective on stuff. And if you don’t like it, you’re not obligated to read every fucking post of every fucking thread. It’s not turning you into a newt, either.

While I’d like to think that freedom of expression and speech are cardinal points at these boards, mimicry and lack of originality can get a bit tedious.

I tend to rate real creativity much higher than a slight rewording or perspective change. Sure, a photo of a large building can be really beautiful. A photo of the same building merely taken from a different angle can become rather trite in an awful hurry.

Because the person starting the thread wanted just ONE viewpoint, either male or female etc.
