Give me reliable website hosting service...

My son has been offered a fee to make a website for his girlfriends father’s landscaping business. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of a reasonably cheap but reliable hosting service?

The website in question is not going to have any bells or whistles - just HTML.

I’ve been using Yahoo! for a while now for simple web pages, FTPing, etc. and I’m very happy with them.

I’ve been happy with earthlink.com.

I like these rankings with reviews:

I use #2, Startlogic.com and have been much more than just happy with them. They offer 2gb space and a huge amount of features and great customer support for $7.50 a month.

Verve Hosting has very good prices, good features (for when they outgrow their plain-jane HTML website, which they will, if it’s anything more than a brochure online) and extraordinary (and I mean extraordinary, exemplary, fantastic to the nth degree) customer service.

Moved to IMHO.

Personally, I’ve been very happy with www.fuitadnet.com for $5 per month:

Is this a good price for web hosting?

Recommend a web hosting company for me

I went with VerveHosting after someone here recommended them. That was 2+ years ago, and I never have had a problem with them.

I use addr.com at $9.99/mo and have never had a problem.

I use IPowerWeb which was listed as #1 on ShagNasty’s link. You have to pay for a full year at once to get the quoted $7.95/mo price. Everything has been fine for the past 2 years. The only issue I’ve ever seen is my phpBB forums are sometimes slow, and every so often I get errors where it can’t connect to the database.

I use powweb.com $7.77 a month with breaks for one year prepayment, $15 domain names.

Whatever you chose don’t forget to give a referral to the Doper who suggested them. Powweb gives me a free month.
