Glasnost Mafia

It was dead on accurate in Hotel of Heroes, if I recall correctly.

That’s it, I’m attaching my sig.

Irony of ironies.

I’ve found that the more overt a PIS slip is, the more likely it is to be a scum tell. If it’s a statement that someone had to twist or needle at to make a PIS accusation fall out of it, you might be looking at a scum trying to play games.

**Hold the presses, the moderator cannot add two numbers together! :smack:

The day ends February 25th not 24th.

Sorry.

A question has come up about multiple votes with no unvotes. I do not require that players unvote, although they may, to be helpful. However, I am treating two votes in a row as an implied unvote, and the latest vote becomes the current vote. Hope that clears things up. There will be a vote count coming shortly.

You don’t get to have more than one vote active at any time.

Did Not Vote:Tom Scud

With these votes, Pleonast would be lynched.

The day will end in less than 28.5 hours

Did you miss this post?

but you singled guiri out for his lack of post quantity and quality. By my estimation, others fall into that category as well regardless of voting or not voting.

All righty then.

vote Pleo

because here’s a behavior that I certainly can see having a scummy motivation: I remember when I was scum and my lynch seemed imminent, the hardest thing was figuring out who to single out for suspicion and who to support; people were going to be picking my posts apart looking for dishonesty, and the level of multiple-think required to try to avoid either obviously bussing someone or obviously trying to smear a Townie was exhausting. Much easier to simply stop engaging with the rest of the game.

(Or you could be Town and tired or frustrated, but if you want to win you should try to make some dispassionate analysis of the rest of the game, because it will be helpful to the rest of your team. Votes on the people who are voting for you are of their very nature not dispassionate).

No, you aren’t.

If those qualify as your “cases,” and that’s the level of careful analysis that you intend to provide, then I’m not sure you have any call to complain about the votes on you.

By the way, I should mention that I’m feeling a bit nervous about peeker, who’s been awfully quiet and non-confrontational in this game.

If players were voting for me for that, I’d not be complaining about it. (See peeker, and now Tom.) Instead, we have three players voting for me because they disagree with my stated tactics, not because I’ve actually done the tactics I stated. One player who thinks I’m too loud or noisy or whatever. And one player who couldn’t be bothered to give a reason.

Do you think any of those five votes are pro-town? When I come up town, are you simply going to ignore these votes, or do you think maybe there’s a scum or two trying to push my lynch?

That’s why I killed them last game. No idea what it means for this game.

Oh, I forget to mention earlier, but given that the rules have been clarified to not allow multiple votes, I’m happy with where my vote ended up. ped’s lack of any stated reason for their vote is the most anti-town vote currently out there.

The question part isn’t the passive aggressive part. It is the statement after the question that makes me suspicious of you: “At this point in the game, you have no idea who or what I am.”
The implication is Zeriel knows who or what you are because he is scum, but you don’t come right out and say that.

The question part could go either way.
I have a hard time accepting a Townie Astral, reacting to Zeriel’s post in the way he did. It doesn’t seem like a Town reaction. I could see a Townie Astral flying off the handle and accusing Zeriel of being scum. I could also see a Townie Astral ignoring it entirely since Zeriel said town-style instead of town. But the middle of the road reaction is making me think Astral is scum.

It still seems weird that Mahaloth has racked up 5 votes for 2nd place while Zeriel has none, but I do acknowledge that Mahaloth’s “You’re way off” post did ping me a bit.

Pleonast, you can try to spin it any way you want, but you really gave only one reason for all 5 of your votes: “for voting for me”. So has anyone done anything in this game that you find suspicious which doesn’t involve their placing a vote on you?

And you never answered my question from earlier…why did you cast votes for these 5 people, but not for septimus? He voted for you as well. Do you consider his reasons for voting you to be valid?

My participation in this game has been far less than is normal for me so far; both work and home life have decided to be busier than usual this week. And since when I woke up this morning I thought that **Pleonast **was cruising toward a lynch this afternoon, I wasn’t giving a lot of attention to the game today. But now that I see that the End-of-Day is not until tomorrow, and the race has tightened up considerably, I need to look over the last 24 hours worth of posts more carefully. I probably won’t have a chance to do that until after work, but I will make it a point to do so.

it’s been his style of late. Though I haven’t checked his Town to Scum ratio lately.

Besides, he’s always a mason.

The italicized part was a joke.

I stated my reasons. Believe me or not; I’m not going to go back on forth on it. Feel free to ask for clarification if you’re unsure what I meant, but I’m tired of arguing with players who insist on misinterpreting or ignoring what I write.

I answered that here:

septimus’ (and Cookies’) vote are not clearly anti-town like the other five are. I’m not going to call them pro-town, either. While Tom thinks it’s impossible to be dispassionate about votes on oneself, I think it’s possible in clear cases. But I’ll agree that sometimes it’s not possible.

How is my vote anti-town, again? Simply because I – in your words – voted for you “for having an anti-town position”?

May we have a vote count?

Yes. You’re voting for me for my stated position, and not anything I’ve done. It’s a classic “I disagree with them about this tactic so I’m voting for them”.
