I am posting quickly in a break but I think we need to look at the discussion about the Vig/Doc plan. And I don’t just mean people who voted no, abstained or didn’t vote. It[FONT= ] really seemed much messier than it should have been and I wonder if scum were trying to muddy the waters, so we wouldn’t know if the Doc/Vig went through with things.[/FONT]
Mahaloth, why were you coy about your target? You seemed very confused and distracted towards the end of that day – missing my unvote, forgetting about the sleeper/doc issue, not understanding why you needed to name a target. And Astral, your final post just seemed to confuse things – why did you post that?
Because I was genuinely confused. I thought he was being difficult and not coming out and announcing the target. Then, as I was glancing back through, I thought he was correcting Red’s vote count instead. So I wanted to make it clear that I wasn’t 100% sure and that our vig and doc should go check for themselves.
OK, I’m 96.837% certain that we have a doctor.

NETA, when I was looking this over, I recounted it to 12-4. I failed to change it though I did change the mislynches to 4.
I was highly distracted for the last hours of the Day. I wish that we had extended the Day, honestly.
I don’t think I was that coy, though. I made my choice quite clear once I realized I had not made my pick.
I’m also inclined to believe that we have a Doc and I need to re-read the end of the Day 3.
I’m going to try to correlate voting records to mass claim opinions to opinions on The Plan and see if anything falls out.
Manwich: Town play can be quite messy. While I acknowledge the temptation to look for scum in the late-Day mess, I also worry about the false positive risk by basing a decision only on that. I’m also a bit dubious of broad terms like “messy” and “scummy” because people can try to ooze one into the other without ever explicitly defining either.
I was not successful in my investigation.
Do we all need to claim then?
OK, if the consensus of more experienced players (and everyone is more experienced than me) is that it was standard end-of-day confusion, I will take that advice. And I certainly wouldn’t base a decision **only **on “messiness”. I was just saying that was one place to look for clues.
If scum thought that the Vig/Doc plan would be good for town, they might have tried to stop it – either by opposing it outright, not voting for it, or trying making it fail by confusing us about whether the Vig/Doc actually went through with it. Then again, they have thought that stopping it was not worth the risk of their exposure.
And we are claiming, right? Should we get started?

Given that we lost Wolverine I hope we do have a Doc. Hopefully they will do as well as Wolverine at keeping scum guessing.
