Glee: 3.07 "I Kissed a Girl" (open spoilers)

Not Jolene though, and especially not for poor Bieste, who deserves better. Here’s how Jolene SHOULD go; “Hey Jolene, I brought you a present! It’s a rotten faithless bastard. Enjoy!”

And as previously mentioned, I Kissed a Girl was an epic fail on the order of Reagan’s use of Born in the USA.

It was in the teaser, like I said. See about 15 seconds in here: Glee - 3x07 [I kissed A Girl l Promo 1] (HD) - YouTube

Well, Kurt is currently sleeping with one of People’s Sexiest Men of the Year, so that’s one point in favor of finishing out the year in Lima.

“Jolene” was performed by one of the winners of The Glee Project in the finale of that show, so I’d kind of been expecting it to show up on Glee proper.

Easy, Kurt won’t want to leave Blaine and will finish out his senior year at McKinley. Since both her son and stepson will be finishing their senior years Carol will remain in Lima. It’s not hard to work around at all. Granted the whole family will certainly go to DC with Burt for his swearing-in, but that’ll probally happen offscreen (maybe with a clip airing on that news show Sue worked at).

Oh hey there it is! Thank you, Lamia. I PVR everything so I don’t see teasers & commercials.

Sex with Darren Criss in Lima, or living in D.C. rent free as the son of a Congressman… would that I had that choice.

I think I’d go with D.C… You can always have sex with Darren Criss on weekends and summer break.

I’m not sure Blaine would be okay with that arrangement. Kurt made a big deal about wanting him to transfer to McKinley, and Blaine agreed to [del]murder his parents and[/del] leave the ritzy prep school where he was worshiped as a god so they could be together every day. If Kurt isn’t willing to stay in Lima until the end of the school year then I don’t think he could count on Blaine being willing to sit around waiting for him to come back for a visit.

I am wondering now if this year’s Nationals will be held in DC, with Kurt and maybe Blaine or others staying there for the summer.

I’m not a regular Glee watcher and caught this episode by accident, and thought they did it pretty well, really. I Kissed a Girl is a horrible song, one that fetishises lesbianism for straight people, but I guess it was kinda inevitable for this episode and they performed it really well. The scene with her Grandmother was awesome; I know quite a lot of people whose families’ initial reactions were exactly like that. Hell, even in my family it’s an open secret. No GF of mine would ever be invited to family occasions unless hosted by one particular sister.

Having everyone sing songs to you about your gayness would be weird, but this is Glee. “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” is an odd choice; I love that song, but it kinda makes it sound like the singer thinks Santana’s just going through a phase. I also didn’t recognise the song at first because of the way it was performed.

Kurt’s half-jumper was just bizarre. It was like he couldn’t decide between a jumper and a poncho so went for something in between. Maybe his grandma (lesbian or not) knitted it for him really badly and he’s just too nice not to wear it.

The coach’s lost love storyline was really touching - although, not knowing the characters, I saw nothing that made that man worth chasing. And that line ‘I’d benchpress a Walrus for you’ (I think it was a walrus) was hilarious but also sweet. The Jolene montage was really well done. I really felt for the coach - she’s a good actress.

The other storylines - is the boy with the partly-shaven head sleeping with his teacher? - I didn’t really get because I’m not a regular viewer.

I think the actress playing Santana has a future in showbiz. The scene with her grandmother showed some acting skilz.

Loved her.

Yes. He’s also the biological father of the teacher’s adopted daughter.

No, think Patrick Stewart - it’s a cheesy alien costume for Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Aaaagh, I just realized that I’m watching a soap opera!

It helps to remember that people on Glee have sex with all their clothes on, or else they put all their clothes back on immediately after sex. I was a little confused watching this episode because I wasn’t sure at first whether Puck and Shelby had actually had sex or if she came to her senses after bringing him home but before doing the deed, then I remembered that the fact that they were both fully clothed meant nothing.

FWIW I don’t think this is just Glee being weird, it is an American network TV show that airs at 8 pm so they probably have to be careful about some things.

When I can get past her puppet mouth, I think she does a pretty good job all around, too.

Finn seemed unusually articulate this ep. (Compare him to the earliest episodes) and so did Santana, but not by as much.

And the teacher is also Rachel’s birth mother.

And Rachel briefly dated Puck.

Band name.

I actually only just finished watching the episode earlier this morning, but I had read (some of) the thread before watching and was expecting the worst for the song, based on some of the reactions here. Instead, what I get is Finn doing a cover of a cover of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. A cover I happen to already have in my iTunes library.

This particular cover was performed first by Greg Laswell 3-4 years ago (this video has him performing the cover back in 2008, and Wikipedia says that the same cover was first aired in 2007 on an episode of Damages).

Personally, I like this version, but to each his own.
