Glee on FOX

Speaking of Kurt – I loved him in his plastic trenchcoat, and then taking the slushy and dumping it on himself.

Oh, my, yes.

This is exactly where I thought they were going also. I thought she was about to show up at a swinger’s party in a zoot suit. She looked good in it, though.

Things that annoy/amuse me:

a) The school has a slurpie machine at all, let alone after the 500th kid gets it thrown in their face.

b) The cheerleaders wear their uniforms to school every day. In my day, they’d wear their cheerleading/sport uniforms (e.g. football or basketball jerseys) on game day. Certainly they wouldn’t wear those tight-fitting wool things every day. (Yuck.)

c) The school’s band can pick up any song and glee can perform back-up perfectly, without even rehearsing. That’s talent!

d) The glee teacher is sexier than any of the studs on the football team and can sing and dance better than any of the leads on glee.

e) The gym coach’s uniform is hysterical.

f) Will and the guidance counselor leave in the middle of the school day to try on bridal gowns. And sing.

g) The male newscaster was perfectly cast. And it’s hysterical that the coach would fall instantly in love with him.

PunditLisa, most of those things I find very amusing because they are so absurd. Anyone else notice that Quinn wears (or wore, anyway) her cheerleading outfit all the time, everywhere? Even to her sonogram?

Glee got the cover story in the new Entertainment Weekly.

Ditto. I think they are played up for their absurdity. Cheerleaders wearing their uniforms ALL the time (not just at the sonogram but in the first ep when they showed Finn and Quinn making out, she was wearing her cheerleader outfit) is, IMO, supposed to mock high school cheerleaders being all proud to wear their cheerleader outfits to school on the day of a game.

Anyways, thought it was a good episode, but definitely not as good as the last couple.

I can believe this, since everyone in this town is a great singer, but who’s writting the arrangements?

I think Will is supposed to be writing a lot of them.

Some of those would annoy me a few weeks ago, then I just decided to go with it and repeat to myself “it’s just a show, I should really just relax!” It’s much easier to accept now. It’s an absurd, over the top show, not a realistic one. Yeah, it’s crazy that kids singing a song together for the first time instantly have it down pat and the song sounds all produced and they have coreographed dances already and all, so what? This ain’t Law & Order.

Goddamn yes! When he started breakin’ during “Bust a Move” I was all “More like this, PLEASE!” I’m pretty much just watching the show for him and Kurt at this point. (And Frankenteen, whose name I forget. Finn? His twitter feed is “frankenteen” LOL)

I think he was grousing at her about it being their lunch hour.

The whole “I don’t really have a pamphlet about how to be popluar” -> “With sunglasses I can stare at boobs and they won’t know!” segment was HYSTERICAL!
