So, who’s gonna die, Rachel, Quinn, or Emma?
That is seriously the worst news I’ve heard about a tv show in a long time.
Why is that bad news? I’ve seen his name mentioned on the Dope quite a bit, but I’ve never watched anything he’s ever done.
Unlike most Dopers I think he’s awful.
Dr. Horrible was a hoot. I think he’ll be good.
I don’t think you’ll have to worry too much, Sleeps With Butterflies. Joss Whedon’s only directing the episode, he’s not writing the script. Although I wouldn’t mind if he could find a way to creatively and violently off Terri or her sister.
I’m not a fan of any his TV series that I’ve seen (Buffy and Firefly), but I did like Dr. Horrible. I saw the episode that he guest directed for The Office a few seasons back and he didn’t really change much in tone or style for that, so I’m guessing he’ll maintain the integrity of Glee.
Hmm… That was decent episode, but not that great compared to last two. This one seemed a little more “sitcom-y.” The singing felt faker than normal, except for Puck’s Sweet Caroline (which was great). And Puck’s storyline was great too. I love the little narrated character sub-plots. I wish they did more of them about the rest of the club, especially the two Cheerios and football players that we know almost nothing about (other that one guy can pop and lock). I still can’t remember the names of most of the club either.
Speaking of Sweet Carolina, it seemed like Santana was really NOT into the performance. She looked dismissive through the whole thing, and while she did applaud, it was in the very slow, sarcastic style.
I can’t remember exactly- does Santana know that Puck is the father? Did she have a crush on him? What’s going on here?
I’m pretty sure it was Santana that dumped Puck based on his credit report, but if I’m wrong, then I guess she just caught the Puck/Rachel thing and disapproved.
Not my favorite episode so far, but whatever flaws it had were well worth the Sue/Shue swing dancing.
That whole “how I got pregnant” talk between Santana and Finn was hilarious. The hot tub and the sperm loving the water and the temperature. Puck definitely knows it’s his baby and he really loves Santana and I think she loves him too, but she doesn’t see that he has much of a future.
I totally got a different vibe from her face during the Sweet Caroline song. I thought her look was kinda dreamy, remembering how good it was with Puck.
I hope Sue saves a little of her vernom for “anchor guy”. He deserves to be taken out at the knees.
Who’s Santana? Isn’t the pregnant girl Quinn? Or is there a third character here I’m totally missing?
Not a great episode, but Sue’s entrance in a zoot suit made it totally worthwhile. And I’m guessing all you Terri-haters were happy to have a Terri-free episode.
Just in case I haven’t mentioned it – I’ve got the most godawful crush on the guy who plays Will. (Kind of the character, but mostly the actor.)
I was hoping Sue/Shue would go to the swing contest and take the blue ribbon…I’m such an optimist.
I think you’re getting the names mixed up. Santana is the cheerleader who dumped Puck based on his credit score, and Quinn is the girl who Puck knocked up.
I think.
I enjoyed the episode. Not as much as the last one but this one had Will and Emma together, and I think those two are adorable together. Plus, Terri was no where to be seen.
Going by the previews, Puck’s going to get someone that he’s really the father, so that means it’s just a matter of time before Finn finds out.
And I do love Rachel in those miniskirts.
I think Santana is the latina Cheerio. She did dump Puck based on his credit score.
I loved Puck singing.
I also loved the line, “we’re two good-looking jews.”
The show was getting a little stale for me, but this episode brought it back.
I would leave the actors out of it; but the episode really did feel like a watered-down Strangers with Candy, in large part. What the writers really needed was a Jellineck to remind them, “Just Be Yourself!”
She was also the one who did the “That’s how Sue 'C’s it” that garned praise from Sue.
Some amazing dancing from Shue this week. Between “Bust a Move”, “Thong Song”, “I Could Have Danced All Night”, and the swing number with Sue, Will danced his ass off and pretty much showed up anyone else in the room.
When Sue’s “boyfriend” told her he liked to swing, I was sure that Sue would be taken to a swinger’s club, thinking it was a dance contest. When she found the guy with the newswoman, I figured “Well, now he’ll explain what he meant by ‘swinging’”. But, nope… he asked if they were still going to the dance contest. Huh. I’m not complaining; was just surprised that it was resolved how it was. Did I miss him making it clear that he meant dancing?
My wife asked me during the show “Wait… so Neil Diamond is Jewish?” and I teased her about it all night. I was reminded of the Simpsons episode with Homer saying “Wait… Mel Brooks is Jewish?!”
Or his mother nagging him to date a Jewish girl while serving him sweet-&-sour pork on Simchat Torah. Also I didn’t realize Kurt was still on the football team. He also chose Glee club over showering with the football team.
Ah! I’d forgotten about the credit score thing, and the official website isn’t very good at reminding me of what happened to supporting characters. To wit:
(My first big fandoms were Star Trek, The Simpsons, and Harry Potter, so I have unrealistic expectations about the amount of canon information that should be easily available to me without going back and watching/reading the canon again.)
I think I might be overthinking Glee; now I’m wondering about the way Brittany and Santana hugged Mike and Matt when they came into the Thursday rehearsal. Brittany seems sweeter than Santana, if nothing else.
