I’ll echo those who said the episode was great. Love Chenowith and she didn’t disappoint. The April/Rachel song and the version of “Alone” were absolutely brilliant and the two ending numbers were wonderful stuff. Along with some hilarious one liners and interesting plot points (so Finn can be devious too… hmmm).
Yeah, that line cracked me right on up.
The actress who plays Emma is far and away my favorite on the show, though. Every time she comes onscreen, her lemur-eyes and twitchiness steals the scene, as far as I’m concerned. She’s adorable and hilarious.
Amen! I can see the comparison, but honestly. Would Sedaris have those pipes?
I’d love to see a rotation, with no more than four years on screen for each of the students. Might help keep interest up so we don’t get tired of rehashing the same romances.
But who are we kidding? This is a very expensive show to produce, and it’s on FOX. I don’t know if it’ll get picked up.
Snipped, of course. I thought I already posted this, but I guess I didn’t click Submit.
I, for one didn’t realize Kurt was gay when I first saw him. But that’s because I thought he was female. I had to ask my sister. I’ve just never seen a character that femmed up on TV. Totally made the whole non-romance with that one girl seem odd.
I didn’t think the non-romance was odd. The black girl had the popular girls telling her that he was wanting her, and when people want to believe something, they’ll ignore anything that tries to tell them otherwise, like Rachel tell her that Kurt was obviously gay.
Funny thing is, I was randomly speculating that the Sedaris family would love this show.
I think she would… but there’s no way she’s interchangeable with Cheno.
It would have been intersting if they made Finn the gay one and Kurt straight, but kept every other aspect of their personalities intact.
Good episode – poor Ken, with his undescended testicle. Explains the shorts, though.
Liked the whole thing about the wife coming in as nurse – I’m loving the freewheeling absurdity of the plotting in this. And now we’ve got Jane in as co-supervisor of Glee … this could (will!) get good.
I love that to rectify Will not paying attention to his club being so uber-competitive that they’d take OTC decongestants is to have Jane as co-supervisor. She’d have them on steroids if she thought it would help win (well, if she wanted to them win anything).
I can’t get enough of this show. Will’s wife annoys the crap out of me, but I like all the other characters a lot.
so fun!
I almost fell off the couch laughing at Finn during the boys’ mashup. I loved that both routines were so creepily enthusiastic. It was like watching Up With People on acid.
There never was a winner declared, was there?
Yes it will be very intersting with Jane directly involved with the glee club
Brian
Actually, does she have any redeeming qualities? So far she’s a really unsympathetic character. (She works minimal hours, blows all their money on her hobbies, fakes the pregnancy, pushes drugs to the students, etc.)
I thought the manic singing was really well done too…
I keep swearing off this show and then continuing to watch it.
The only reason I watched it to begin with is because it had music. But the music has become my absolute least favorite part of the show. It not that the performances are bad, it’s just that they’re uninteresting. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I feel like the musical sequences are produced for those who might actually believe Beyonce’s video for “Single Ladies” IS “one of the greatest videos of all time.” I disagree.
But I actually like the writing, the character drama, and I feel like the cast is clearly capable of performing numbers I would find interesting. But they just keep not doing so.
See, I think what would have been interesting is to have made the wheelchair-guy gay. The gay football player is all like Afterschool Special a la Joss Whedon; we’ve seen it. The gay femme guy is the original stereotype. But who ever heard of a gay cripple? Now THAT’d be something.
And I thought this latest episode was kinda weak. Hopefully more Sue won’t lead to overexposure. Hopefully Will’s wife will die horribly and be off the show. Hopefully we’ll get more ginger pygmy bush-baby.
I could not agree more.
Especially about the “ginger pygmy bush-baby”. snort
She really does have grotesquely large eyes, doesn’t she?
