A trusted source of telling us why we’re wrong opened a thread on this gun. Apparently those that can legally buy it are too damn dangerous to own one.
Notice at the bottom of the page number (4. “Check local law and regulations.”
Now of course those that would use a fully auto pistol to commit a crime are NOT going to buy one from a dealer that will have his or her name on file and submitted to local law enforcement. They’ll buy one on the black market and convert it themselves.
And I hate to keep harping on my M1 Carbine, but that rifle will do a HELL of a lot more damage than even a fully auto 9mm.
Now would you “take everyone’s guns” crowd please use a little common sense?
I can’t envision a use for a full-auto pistol; how does one keep subsequent rounds 'on target?"
I once-upon-a-time owned a Glock 19. One needed a break between shots to re-target. The gun is so light that all recoil is absorbed by your arm (in an upward arc). A full auto will have one shooting the milky way, IMNSHO.

Unless it’s just for the 4th of July? 9mm tracers in red, white and blue, anyone?
Oh hell, screw the guns. I want tracers!!! No really, can I get some for the M1 and .22 pistol? That would be some fun for the kids at the cabin! I’m serious.
Now, now… there might be valid law enforcement scenarios where you need a gun that can shoot bullets like a “firehose”. I can’t envision any situations where this would be a potential problem in the hands of a calm, judicious law enforcement officer who’s not peeing his or her pants because that stupid junkie or nut case won’t listen, and keeps approaching them.
I have fired a Stechkin automatic pistol many a time. (Over in yon other country, not here.) It’s fun, but wickedly innaccurate without the buttstock. 9x18, though, not 9x19 as the G18 is.
There are a number of detachable stocks out for the G18. I could certainly see the value in equiping various SWAT-esque units with a G18. They could slap on the stock and stick in a Scherer 33rd mag when they need a psuedo-SMG. For more standard pistol use, the G18 is nothing but a gee-whizzed G17, and as we all know, the G17 is the finest 9x19 pistol ever made.
Of course, as a Moderator I’m authorized to carry a Glock 7, which is made of porcelain and can’t be detected by metal detectors or X-ray machines and costs as much as you make in a month.
