Do you mean the situation in Iraq or Blackacre’s posting? One will probably end by morning when it sobers up, but the other will likely go on for a long time.
Can’t really tell which is which though.

I agree
" Dems pulling for insurgents?"
I’m sorry, what does this mean?
It means he’s an idiot.
I seem to remember hearing these words about Afghanistan.
I have yet to see anyone predict the outcome of a conflict correctly.
In Afghanistan we had whole-hearted international cooperation and a clear mission (which we failed to complete, anyway), as well as a strong and independent ally in the Northern Alliance.
In Iraq we have half-hearted cooperation from about two countries who can field an actual army, no clear mission, and a weak and very dependent ally in the Allawi government.
While I hope our soldier come out of this alive and well, I can’t help but regret that it’s come to this in the first place. Anyone who can post on here gloating and screaming for blood is either a child who’s never lost a loved one to war or violence, or an unfeeling asshole.
There is a young man in Fallujah tonight, Black Chancre. He is excited, giddy with the coming glory, thrilled that he will have his chance to kill. His ears are stuffed with lies: glory, victory, conquest…the same old lies, like a broken down, diseased whore, whispering obscene promises.
He is your brother. You are closer to him than you know.
As a poster who is a) a Dem; and b) has spent considerable time in Iraq and Afghanistan; I feel I am in a unique position to point out that the originator of this thread is a complete and utter moron, I also suspect he has no idea what war is. I’ve been in three, they are not sporting events and only fat-assed Red Staters safe in their Walmarts cheer them like they are sporting events.
First off, only Red Staters think that everything in Afghanistan is fine, because they don’t see anything about it on the front page of the Weekly Shopper Gazette, and because Fox news says it’s great. Karzai has been elected mayor of Kabul, he has no real authority and the state will fail.
Secondly, we can never win in Iraq, never, it’s over. We might win the battle of Fallujah, but in so doing we will recruit more terrorists all over the world then we can ever kill.
Thirdly, isn’t the poster at all concerned by the orthodox view of the Red Staters that only Republicans love America? No, I guess not, all we Dems get is a profound sense of sorrow and the bitter victory of a great big I told you so, in the next four years.
Blackacre, are you a veteran, or are you just talking out of your ass? Have you seen service to our country, or are you posting under the influence?
You sound like someone who is willing to let others do the dirty work for him, “supporting the troops”, but not putting his/her own life on the line. C’mon, fess up, you must be a kid trying to provoke his elders, no?
no american boys died in Afghanistan, huh?
Of course, at least that war had a point. Terrorists were loose and using the country as their personal nation-state. Iraq, not so much.
No, I am pulling for peace and as little bloodshed as possible. Not all of those “Fallujah Fuckers” are combatants, many are people just trying to make a living. Children. Old people. Women. Your bloodthirsty posturing is just sickening and wrong. I am concerned for the American troops AND the civilians were are supposed to be freeing from tyranny. I will pray for both of them and hope against hope that somehow, few lives will be lost and few will suffer injury.
All I can see is that you are pulling for death, dismemberment, power, and hatred of people whom you’ve never even met. It saddens me almost as much as it angers me.
I suppose it’s easy from the nice, comfortable safety of the US to scream for blood when you’re not the one who has to spill it-- don’t have to hear the screams of those with burns or missing limbs. You don’t have to hear the wails of a mother whose child was accidently struck by a bullet. From this safe distance, it can all be exciting and fun, just like a movie where troops charge forth to the tune of soaring violins and the enemy falls as easily and neatly as bowling pins. Lots of cool explosions and the stacatto rattle of gunfire on the evening news, where deaths are just numbers mentioned in passing.
And here I thought this thread was somehow tied to the army-navy game…
Ra ra ra!
Blood and pain!
Ra ra ra!
Bullet to the brain!
Goooooooooo team!!!
(oh, you’re an idiot, by the way)
You know ** Blackacre** I usually like to see a great ass!! Alas another favorite pastime shot to shit.
It’s nice to see that all the demonizing has stopped…
Blackacre, you are truly a moron.
And the Thundering Troglodite Award this year goes to… Blackacre
I hope that the US troops are successful and have little ro no casualties.
