Go watch this video now, you will love it. Off you go. (Bobby Fingers, special effects artist)

Joe Rogan and The Black Keys Diorama

(don’t let the fact that it is Rogan-related turn you away)

Bobby Fingers is a special effects artists who makes dioramas. Besides this one, he has videos of a drunk Mel Gibson being arrested, Michael Jackson’s hair being caught on fire, and others.
He is amazingly talented, but the videos also showcase his dry wit.

Example (while he was constructing miniature cigars for Joe Rogan’s humidor, paraphrasing): "I
tried smoking a cigar once. It was awful. It was like fellating the Wicker Man."

Anyway, go on now and report back.

mmm

At work, so I can’t have sound but clearly he’s a very talented (and patient) man. Impressive.

But why Joe Rogan? (ugh)

Yeah, that’s what I thought.

The story, since you asked: The Black Keys were guests on Rogan’s podcast. At one point, the drummer (Patrick Carney) mentioned that there is a guy who does amazing dioramas. Carney wanted to talk about him (Bobby Fingers) but he drew a blank on his name. Rogan immediately shifted the conversation to Judo with a who-gives-a-shit attitude and, of course, the diorama guy was never mentioned again.

Fingers’ buddy heard this, contacted Fingers, who then interrupted his Michael Jackson diorama to create the Rogan/Black Keys one. He talks about this on the video, about how he was this close to getting a ton of recognition.

mmm

OK, thanks for that. I’m following him now (not Rogan) to see what he comes up with in the future.

At first I thought this was about Bobby Badfingers, whom Howard Stern touted as having “the most useless talent he’s ever seen.”
