Quick musical/television question.
Who recorded that a capella version of Billie Holiday’s “God Bless the Child” for the Fox sitcom “Roc” (now airing on TV Land)?
It’s on the CD Television’s Greatest Hits: Vol. 7, Cable Ready. Neither amazon.com nor cdnow.com list the artists for the tracks on that disc, but I have it at home. If no one has gotten back to you by tonight, I’ll try to remember to check then.
Close, but not quite. That’s a different song that they started using for Roc around season three or so (recorded by En Vogue – Thanks BN.com) – about the same time they started doing the live shows.
This is a bluesy song that I’m looking for, back at season one.
I just googled this and all that’s showing up on google is En Vogue and Shania Twain. If you do an MP3 search for the song, you’ll probably locate the version you’re talking about (Liza Minnelli did a kick-arse version years ago too).
I think I remember boys II men doing the theme song for a while…
