God Finally Got Walter...Bill Macy Dies

Bill Macy, who played Maude’s long-suffering husband Walter has passed away at 97.

Here’s the link.

I have to admit I was surprised to hear this. I thought he had been dead for many years.

I thought you meant William Macy!

Me too and with his wife in jail.

Instantly thought of Maude’s husband but then I thought he must have died a while ago and William Macy had died but was relieved when the truth was revealed. What a rollercoaster!

Also, sorry Bill for being less sad that you died.

Damn those glasses!

Man, I just looked him up the other day. I didn’t watch Maude growing up, but he was just so damn familiar looking. Sure enough, he was the glasses guy in The Jerk. I remember being surprised he was still among us at his advanced age. Maybe I should stop looking up wikipedia articles of old actors, because I this isn’t the first time that’s happened to me. No more creeping Kirk Douglas’s page to keep track of how old he is!

Ah, he was on my 2020 death list I’m making.

Everyone else got stuff they could hit out of the park in THE PRODUCERS, and he didn’t get much to do at all; but he nailed his moment all the same.

Why would anybody who was given the name Wolf at birth want to change it to Bill?

I really enjoyed him in the otherwise forgotten film Serial.

He was working regularly well into his 80s. That was a very impressive run. RIP.

In fact, when William H. Macy began his acting career, he was usually billed as W.H. Macy, specifically to avoid confusion with the already-established Bill Macy.
